Here at the Parrett Cider Company we are passionate about all things craft cider. Based in Curry Rivel, Somerset, right by the river Parret and in the heart of cider country. We source all our apples locally and press them ourselves. We love the apples, and we love the cider, and we believe that nothing artificial needs to be added. That's right our ciders are 100% natural! Nothing added, nothing

taken away. Made using great local varieties of apple for that true Somerset taste. So if you want to try it for yourselves look out for us in your local pub, or if you want to take some home, give us a call or a message!

The sun rising, birds singing, and the landscape slowly waking for the longest day of the year.

It would have been rude not to.

If you had a pint in the cider tent at this year’s Green Scythe Fair, there’s a pretty good chance it was served by Joe.

Known to many as “that cool Somerset chap”, Joe is a familiar face at many a local events. When he’s not helping keep thirsty cider drinkers topped up, he’s usually busy making his own cider, tinkering with something classic car related, or opening the doors to his cider bar in Muchelney.

Open most Fridays, Joe’s Cider Bar is one of those places that doesn’t really need a website, social media or much advertising. People hear about it, find it, and then keep coming back. Good cider, good company and plenty of characters.

If you’ve never been, it’s well worth seeking out. If you have been, you’ll know exactly why we’re talking about it.

Cheers, Joe!

A huge thank you to our judges, Bill Bradshaw, Matt from Tricky Cider and Beccy from Wilding’s Cider, for their time, knowledge and good humour throughout the judging, and Matin for taking all the notes!

And a suitably cheesy shout-out to Barbers Farmhouse Cheddar , just down the road, for keeping our judges’ palates refreshed with some excellent Somerset cheddar.

A massive thank you also goes to our bar team, who didn’t stop all day, and to every single person who came along to support the cider bar. Between you, you drank more than 400 litres of cider, an incredible effort and proof that Somerset’s love of cider is alive and well.

Thank you to everyone at the Green Scythe Fair for putting on another fantastic event celebrating traditional crafts, rural skills, sustainability and community. We are always proud to be part of it.

And finally, thank you to Sara from Stable Design and Hidden Somerset, who spent the day capturing the people, stories and cider-soaked fun that make events like this so special. and

Here’s to the orchards, the cider makers, the volunteers, the visitors and everyone who helped make it such a brilliant day. Until next year!
