We love steak and so do you as we shift loads of them, from rib-eye to rump, flat iron to bavette😋
To give your steak the proper rest it needs, you’ll need a little bit of patience. Trust us when we say, its most definitely worth it. For equipment, you just need a clean surface for the steak to sit on and some foil.
A lot of cooks prefer to use a warm plate or serving platter. You can also use a cutting board, which is convenient if you plan on slicing the steak before serving. Board or plate is fine at home. An oven rack also makes a handy resting spot for your meat, since it helps you keep the crusty, seasoned exterior intact.
Here are some simple steps to follow:
Take the meat off of the heat burner, out of the oven, or off the grill or bbq once your done cooking.
Transfer your meat to the warm plate or cutting board.
Create a little tent with aluminum foil to retain a bit of the heat and place over the meat. Not too tight mind or it will continue cooking.
Let it sit for the appropriate amount of time. How long is up to you and how thick your steak is. 5 minutes is a good place to start. 🕑
Remove the foil and slice. Unless you want to cut on the plate.
Promptly serve and enjoy!
