It’s been a busy day at The Royal Highland Show so only just getting round to posting.

Kirstine Hughes is our winner this time - enjoy the goodies!

💒 We missed Angus show last week with the cattle as mum and dad were away to a wedding on the Isle of Bute for the beautiful couple Emma McAlister and James Wightman. A huge congratulations to this wonderful pair. ❤️

🚛 So instead we attended Alyth show on Saturday to give the cattle an outing before the Royal Highland Show and they behaved well and picked up a few prizes along the way.

🥇 Drumsleed Rachel- Any Other Breed Champion and Reserve Interbreed Champion.

🥇 Drumsleed Steel- Best Opposite S*x to Champion (He was the only bull there so wasn’t hard!!)

🏆 And these two joined up and won the Interbreed Pairs.

A great day all round, thank you to the judges, stewards and everyone involved with Alyth Show.

The first year since I was 15 (that was only around 10 years ago!! 🙈😂) that I haven’t done silage.

The guys are going to have a late night tonight but are pushing on to let us get away to the Royal Highland Show in the morning.

A massive thank you to the team for battling weather and breakdowns.

A huge congratulations to Caroline Millar for the recognition of what she does for Scottish Agritourism. This award is thoroughly deserved and all of us within the Agritourism really appreciate what she does for the sector. ❤️

Scottish Agritourism is delighted to congratulate Director and Sector Lead, Caroline Millar, on being awarded a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the King’s Birthday Honours in recognition of her exceptional services to agritourism and the rural economy in Scotland.

The honour reflects almost two decades of tireless leadership, advocacy and innovation, during which Caroline has transformed the profile of agritourism in Scotland and established it as a key contributor to sustainable rural development.

Commenting on the award, Caroline said:

“I am deeply honoured to receive this recognition. Agritourism has the power to strengthen farm businesses, connect people with food production and create thriving rural communities. This award reflects the dedication of the many farmers, businesses, volunteers and partners I have had the privilege to work alongside over the years. Together, we have built a movement that is helping shape the future of Scotland’s rural economy.”

Anyone who knows me, also knows I’m often a bit last minute so I’ve missed the boat with getting this ready for our first game in a few hours time 🤦‍♂️

Check the marbling on these beauties!! 😍😍

Some of my favourite cuts - Sirloin steaks and Ribeye steaks 🥩

These have been cut from our simmental heifer that has been born and reared right here on our family farm at Drumsleed which is in the beautiful Howe O The Mearns ⛰️

We are keeping our food miles to an absolute minimum meaning less stress on the animal, ensuring traceability and transparency of where your food comes from, less impact on the environment whilst also supporting other local businesses and the economy.
