📍The Garlogie Inn | B9119 Aberdeen to Tarland Road (Westhill)

I’m the type of person who associates places with memories, and The Garlogie Inn is definitely one of those places for me ❤️

I think I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve been here, but every visit seems to have stuck with me.

I first came as a child with family who were visiting, then years later on a random day out with my gran and granda. I’ve also visited a couple of times with my friend and her daughter, and this time my little boy got to join us too 🥹

It wasn’t even a planned visit. We found ourselves looking for somewhere nice for breakfast on a Monday morning and somehow ended up here.

Between us we ordered:

🥑 Avocado on sourdough toast
🥓 A bacon roll
🥞 Freshly made pancakes with crispy bacon & maple syrup
🥞 A portion of plain pancakes
🍪 And an empire biscuit 😋

To drink, we had two vanilla lattes, a hot chocolate topped with marshmallows and a baby chino ☕️🤎

The food was lovely, the company was lovely, and it ended up being one of those simple mornings that will probably become another happy memory I associate with this place.

I’d love to return for lunch or dinner sometime soon.

📍 Maki & Ramen | Union Square Aberdeen 🍜🌸 AD | Invite

Having visited before, I already knew I loved it here. Between the blossom covered ceilings, neon signs, warm lighting and handwritten sticky note wall, there’s always plenty to catch your eye - and the staff are always really attentive, which makes a difference 🫶

We visited for dinner and ordered:

🥟 Chicken gyoza
🦑 Tempura squid
🍜 Steak Tataki ramen - creamy curry based broth, tataki steak cooked rare, ramen egg & a mild spicy kick
🍗 Chicken Yakisoba - stir fried noodles topped with crispy karaage chicken & bonito flakes

To drink, I had a Sauvignon Blanc while he went for a beer 🍷🍺

The standout for me was definitely the karaage chicken that came with my yakisoba. I’ll absolutely be ordering a side of that all on its own next time 😋

I also loved all the little touches around the restaurant, especially the sticky note wall where customers leave drawings and messages behind - and couldn’t resist leaving my own 🫶

📍 Muzo’s Turkish Kitchen | Aberdeen Beach Front 🇹🇷

I visited here last month with my friend Jade and our toddler boys, the service was outstanding and the food? I’m a big fan of Turkish cuisine, having visited Turkey multiple times, and Aberdeen Turkish Kitchen really feels like it brings a little taste of authentic Turkey to Aberdeen.

We ordered the 2-course lunch menu for £18.95.

Before our starters even arrived, we were treated to complimentary bread, salad and dips 🫶

For starters we shared:
✨ Humous
✨ Sucuk (Turkish sausage)

For mains:
🍗 Chicken casserole
🍢 Chicken kebab with rice & salad

We didn’t order separately for the boys as we’d both visited before and knew the portions were generous. We simply asked for extra plates and shared our meals with them - and I still had leftovers to take home! 😅

My chicken casserole was absolutely delicious 😋

To finish, we were served complimentary apple tea, which was the perfect end to the meal.

Every single member of staff seemed to go out of their way to keep the boys entertained and it made all the difference 🙌

One of those lunches where the food was fantastic, but it was the overall experience that really stood out. We left already talking about when we’d come back ❤️

📍 Kirktown Garden Centre & Restaurant | Stonehaven

Lunch with a toddler can go one way or the other. It can be an absolute delight OR, like this occasion, you can spend the whole time pleading with them to have just one more bite while they cry, gurn and have a complete meltdown over something and nothing 😅

That said, *I* had a lovely coronation chicken sandwich with salad & chips, followed by a mooch around the garden centre 🌿

Thankfully there’s also a park right outside to help keep the mini demons entertained afterwards 😈

Lovingly handcrafted by our baker from Kyoto, we'll be bringing along:

📍 SPUDZ R US | Chapel Street, Aberdeen & Loirston Avenue, Cove

I never really got the spud craze, but having now been to Spudz R Us twice in a short space of time - I guess you could say I’m converted 🤌🥔

I went for the Spud Kiev and the Katsu Chicken (on two different days, honest 😅)

The Spud Kiev was absolutely unreal & I genuinely feel like I need another one ASAP 😋

One colleague went for the 🍗 Hunters Chicken with garlic butter, while another built their own with coronation chicken, coleslaw, pineapple and mayo.

Safe to say there wasn’t a single disappointing spud at the table 👀

📍 Brae_chapelton ☕️🧁

On Sundays, Brae at Chapelton isn’t open for sit-in, but you can still grab a takeaway coffee and cake - and sometimes that’s just what you need!

They have an outdoor seating area too which, weather permitting, is such a lovely little spot to sit with a coffee, an iced drink or something sweet. We enjoyed this last Sunday before heading over to the park for a play 🛝

We went for a vanilla latte, a baby chino & a birthday sprinkle cake slice (options vary weekly)

I also noticed today that they have some salads available, which look right up my street 😋

Perfect for a local takeaway coffee stop if you’re in the area - whether you’re heading out for a walk, taking the kids to the park or just fancying a wee treat.

📍 Chop Grill & Bar UK AD | Invite

NEW MENU LAUNCH NIGHT 🔥…. and what a night it was!!

We were invited along to get a first look at Chop’s brand new menu and it was an evening packed with incredible food, cocktails and live cooking stations.

Throughout the night we sampled a range of canapés including seared king scallops with yuzu, chicken & mushroom rigatoni and white chocolate brownie 😍

The live cooking stations were a real highlight, with guests able to try everything from spicy tuna rolls and a delicious tomatoes & feta bruschetta topped with whipped Graceburn cheese, to a selection of steaks including ribeye, sirloin, fillet and smoked ribeye, all freshly prepared in front of us 🥩🔥

To wash it all down there were plenty of drinks flowing too, including Hugo Spritz, Palomas, Spicy Margaritas and Espresso Martinis 🍸

The whole event was so well put together and every member of staff we spoke to was fantastic - friendly, welcoming and genuinely passionate about what they do. It really made the evening feel special.

A really fun way to experience the new menu, catch up with some familiar faces and try dishes I maybe wouldn’t have ordered otherwise.

Excited to go back and try more from the menu 🔥

📍 Cafe Harmony| Bon Accord Terrace, Aberdeen

I’m not even exaggerating when I say Cafe Harmony has been on my list of places I’ve wanted to visit for years - and I really don’t know why I have taken so long to visit. But I do know, I won’t be leaving it years to return!

Cafe Harmony is the most beautiful spot, it feels welcoming from the second you walk through the door - the decor is simple but stunning 🍃

Serving Mediterranean food, I came for lunch with a friend & we were a bit stuck on what to order so we opted for a mixture of appetisers to share between us 😍

We went for:

✨ Hummus & Pitta Bread
✨ Sicilian Tomato & Aubergine Turnover
✨ Ragu (Minced Beef) Arancini
✨ Concasse Tomato Bruschetta
✨ Fried Calamari

This was such a great way to sample a few different dishes and perfect to sit and take our time enjoying the afternoon with some delicious food & wine.

The service was fantastic, for most of the time we were there there only seemed to be one lady working on the floor & yet she was so friendly and attentive.

A lovely afternoon, lovely food and company ❤️
