📍 Glasgow Cathedral | Castle Street, Glasgow ⛪️

Whenever I go on a city break, I make a beeline for the cathedral - yet somehow, I’d never thought to visit the one in Glasgow before!

Dating back to the 12th century, it’s one of Scotland’s most magnificent medieval buildings and is believed to stand on the site where Glasgow’s patron saint, St Mungo, was buried.

It’s absolutely beautiful, and so much bigger than I expected! 😍

Definitely worth visiting, and there are so many other amazing spots to explore in the surrounding area too 👀

Do I have a favourite? Probably the caramel banana latte, but I also loved the kinder cookie and the salted caramel… and, and, and 😂

One thing’s for sure: Kava never disappoints! 😋

They’ve just announced that they’re taking a well-earned break after this weekend (closed 11-14 Sept) then will be back on 18 September with a brand-new autumn menu - which I can’t wait to try! 🍂

📍 Dishoom | Nelson Mandela Place, Glasgow

One of the first things I knew I needed to do whilst visiting Glasgow was go to Dishoom for breakfast! 😋

I’ve been before for dinner in Edinburgh, but their breakfast menu has always jumped out at me and thankfully, it did not disappoint!

We started with a fresh orange juice and Mr. Xavier’s Mule - a chai-charged cold brew with ginger b**r, orange cordial, lion’s mane, zinc and turmeric for “vital energy” - and, of course, I also got a latte ☕️

Then for food:

🥓 Double Bacon Naan Roll
Twice the smoked streaky bacon, wrapped in a freshly baked naan with cream cheese, tomato-chilli jam and fresh coriander

🍳 Kejriwal
Two fried eggs on chilli cheese toast

The food was delicious! I’d actually fancied a side of chilli cheese toast, but as they didn’t have it separately on the menu, that definitely influenced me picking the Kejriwal 😋

The setting is beautiful too. Housed inside Glasgow’s former Stock Exchange, this Dishoom is inspired by 1950s Bombay and built around the fictional story of a mysterious former spy named Miss X - which explains its dark, cinematic feel! 🕵🏻‍♀️

It was so nice having something a little bit different but sooo good to start the day! ❤️

📍 Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum | Glasgow 🏛️

One of those Glasgow landmarks I’ve seen plenty of times but it’s always fun to explore!

The building itself is absolutely stunning, but there’s so much to see inside too - from the floating heads art and lots of history to a full-sized Spitfire hanging overhead. It’s one of those museums where every room feels completely different from the last. 🤩

I was so disappointed that Barbie: The Exhibition had closed for the day when we visited 🙈😩 but thankfully it’s running until 18 October 2026, so there’s still time if you plan to visit! 💕🎀

The main museum is completely free to visit, making it such a brilliant addition to a day exploring Glasgow.

📍 croque_toasties | Aberdeen Beach 🥪

I really love a good grilled cheese sandwich, so if I’m near the beach and Croque is open, there’s a very good chance you’ll find me there 😅

These photos are from a few different visits and have been sitting in my drafts for a while, as Croque has sadly been closed after the owner broke his wrist.

But the very good news is that he’s back at Aberdeen Beach this Saturday and Sunday from 10:30am–3:30pm! ❤️

And if, like me, you’re feeling a little bit gluttonous, Croque is situated right next to kavacoffee, making it very easy to justify the perfect coffee and toastie combo 😏☕️

So if you’ve been missing your Croque fix, or haven’t tried one yet, they’re back at Aberdeen Beach this weekend! 🥪❤️

📍 Maggie's Grill | Marischal Square, Aberdeen

Aberdeen Restaurant Week (or Foodie Fortnight) is back, and I kicked things off with a cheeky lunchtime visit to Maggie’s Grill with Martyn (Food & Travel) 🤗

Maggie’s are running a whopping £10 lunch deal, and this isn’t a tiny “cheap lunch” menu either… there are loads of dishes to choose from! 🤤

We went all in, thinking one dish each couldn’t possibly be enough, so decided to order three between us:

🐟 White fish tacos
🌶️ Chilli cheese loaded crinkle-cut fries
🧇 Chicken ’n’ waffles - for dessert 🤷🏻‍♀️

Needless to say, our eyes were bigger than our bellies! The portion sizes were incredibly generous and everything was packed full of flavour 😍

But here’s the real public service announcement: Maggie’s £10 lunch menu isn’t only available during Restaurant Weeks - it runs every Tuesday to Friday from 12–4pm! 👏

They also have further Aberdeen Inspired Restaurant Weeks deals though, with two courses for £25 or three courses for £30 running through til the 6 September 🙌

📍 Grampian Transport Museum | Alford 🚗

It’s been so long since I visited here, I was still a child, but this is such a great spot to visit in Aberdeenshire! 🤩

We were lucky enough to visit on one of their rare Vehicle Rides Days which was brilliant! Getting the chance to actually ride in some of the museum’s vehicles made the visit that little bit more special 🚗

There’s so much to see inside too - from vintage classics to iconic TV cars, there was plenty to keep the kids interested - and if we’re being honest, the adults too, especially if you were a fan of Top Gear 👀

It’s a brilliant family day out, and something I didn’t realise before our visit is that Grampian Transport Museum is actually an independent, self-funding charity, supported by a huge team of volunteers, so visits, memberships, donations and fundraising all help support the museum and preserve its collection for the future. ❤️

Definitely one of those Aberdeenshire attractions I think we sometimes forget is right on our doorstep!

📍 Giddy Cup | Aberdeen Beach ☕️🧇

I was kindly invited along to Giddy Cup to try their new waffles on a stick and even standing waiting in the queue, I could smell how delicious these were! 😍

We went for:

🍫 Nutella with strawberries, raspberries & banana
🤍 Bueno loaded with chocolate, strawberries and all the good stuff - Jazzies, Kinder Bueno & white chocolate drops

They were the perfect size, freshly made and absolutely covered in toppings. We were covered in chocolate in the best possible way! 😂

Of course, we couldn’t stop at waffles… I also tried their split cup, which is such a genius idea for anyone as indecisive as me!

My two choices were:

💚 Banana matcha with vanilla cold foam
🤎 Crème brûlée latte with custard cold foam & caramelised brown sugar

Both were absolutely delicious! I am not normally a matcha fan at all, but I really enjoyed this one 🤌

You can also keep the reusable split cup and bring it back next time to get £1 off your drink! ♻️

Waffles, coffee & a walk along Aberdeen beach - a pretty perfect combination if you ask me! 🌊☕️🧇
