🍎 LYNE DOWN AT THE BIG APPLE – HARVESTIME 2026
MUCH MARCLE
For two days in October we invite the public to celebrate the apple harvest and the extraordinary c***r-making heritage of this little corner of Herefordshire.
Our traditional orchard is full of old c***r apple varieties and everything we use is unsprayed, picked by hand and pressed here at Lyne Down.
We make our Orchard Blend, combining different varieties from across the orchard, alongside a number of single-variety c***rs which really show just how different each c***r apple can be. We also press our own apple juice – pure juice made from apples picked here in the orchard.
There’ll be c***r tastings throughout the weekend, so come and try them for yourself and have a chat with us about how they’re made.
And there’s plenty more happening at Lyne Down…

Wander up to our hay meadow to the Lyne Hares standing stones and take in the wonderful views across to May Hill
The Big Apple is about much more than c***r. It’s a celebration of the incredible c***r-making heritage of Much Marcle and the surrounding Herefordshire countryside, with different farms, c***r makers and venues opening their doors across the weekend.
Every stop has its own character and story, so follow the signs, explore the other venues around the village and make a day of it.
And when you reach Lyne Down – No. 2 on the Big Apple map – come in, have a wander, taste some c***r, eat something lovely and stay a while.
