Residents, staff, and families at Wharfedale View Extra Care enjoyed an unforgettable afternoon as Walk on the Wild Side - animal encounters brought a variety of fascinating creatures right to their doorstep.

Everyone had a fantastic time getting up close and personal with the animals, creating plenty of smiles and shared moments of wonder. 🐍🦎🦜🐛🐜

A huge thank you goes out to animal handler Josh for leading such an engaging and informative session that delighted all ages.

What a fantastic afternoon! 🎤✨

​We were thrilled to welcome the amazingly talented Johnny Dee for a brilliant Neil Diamond tribute act.

From singing along to Sweet Caroline to dancing along to Forever in Blue Jeans, our residents had an absolute blast.

Well done to everyone who hosted & played a part in this event! 👏

With England gearing up for tonight’s World Cup semi-final, the excitement was in full swing at Wharfedale View as staff and residents enjoyed their very own penalty shoot-out competition.

A fantastic game filled with goals, fun, laughter and plenty of team spirit saw everyone get involved, with a few red cards handed out for good measure! After lots of energetic play and a few bruises for brave goalkeeper Lindsey, a wonderful afternoon was enjoyed by all.

The event was rounded off perfectly with a World Cup quiz, bringing residents and staff together for some friendly competition and football-themed fun. ⚽🥅🏆

Royal Ascot comes to Wharfedale View...

Residents enjoyed a delightful afternoon inspired by the world famous Royal Ascot.

Horse themed games & a best dressed resident prize made the afternoon enjoyable!

The event brought residents together for an afternoon of fun & community spirit. 🐴

Have Your Say on Staying Active in Leeds

We are looking for local people to take part in a friendly focus group to help shape a new citywide campaign. The aim is to support people to become more active, improve strength and balance, and help prevent falls.

We would like to hear your views on:

What helps you stay active
What puts you off exercising
What would motivate you to move more

We are especially keen to hear from:

Women aged 45–60
Men aged 40–55
People approaching retirement
People who do not currently exercise much

Sessions will be relaxed and informal, with 10–12 people per group.

Participants will receive a £20 voucher as a thank you for taking part.
