We had a super day on Saturday 13th June at f@bosomfriendsbradford ends-Bradford well-being event hosted by . It was a fabulous event with a great team, and it was so lovely to meet the amazing women that attended and their supporters, and to educate them about nutrition in the early stages post breast cancer and treatment.

Thursday was 'Take Your Child to Work Day' and my eldest (14) joined me for a visit to a client family and an MDT meeting.

It was a great opportunity for her to observe collaborative practice, understand the roles within a multidisciplinary team, and see the realities of person‑centred care in action.

We rounded off the day with tea at Nando’s and a quick stop at a chocolate shop — she’s now quite convinced that working life is lots of fun! 😁

Thoroughly enjoyed diving into these two books while on holiday.
The deep historical look at macro‑ and micronutrients was a powerful reminder of how much we still don’t know about what food truly does in the body.

Food Intelligence was full of common‑sense truths we need to say out loud more often: marketed foods and supplements exist to drive profit, not health. Something worth remembering the next time you see the “next big” nutrition promise.

And Metabolical — a clever play on metabolism and diabolical — reinforces a message we don’t talk about enough: our diet needs to protect the liver and feed the gut if we want to reduce metabolical diseases.
