🥩 A BLAST FROM THE PAST 🥩

Before Starkeys Butchers became what it is today, there was Graham…

This little newspaper clipping is from just before Graham bought his own shop, after already making a name for himself in the butchery world.

Graham had just won the Norman Binks Memorial Trophy in a cutting competition — a brilliant achievement early in his career, and a little glimpse of the skill and dedication that would go on to become such a big part of Starkeys.

Not long after this photo was taken, Graham purchased his own shop and went into business with his dad, Syd. ❤️

Fast forward to today and Graham is still at the heart of Starkeys, now running the business alongside his son, Joe.

From Graham & Syd, to Graham & Joe… 🥩❤️

Quite a journey — and this is where some of the story began.

Cyril (Syd) Starkey: 17.8.30 - 22.5.26 ❤️

We would like to let our customers know that Syd passed away peacefully at home at the amazing age of 95.

Syd started working as a butcher from the age of 13 and only hung up his smock and apron at the age of 86 (to care for his lovely wife Beryl).

He has been an amazing dad, father in law, grandad and great grandad. He was the rock of the Starkey family and will be greatly missed.

Syd was such an amazing person. He was very kind, generous and fun to be around ❤️. He was extremely stoic and he would help anyone. We are very proud of him and he will live on in our hearts ❤️.
