Proper northern gems still exist… and Baldy’s Wigan Pies is right up there 🥧🔥

Award-winning for a reason. Proper pastry, packed fillings, no shortcuts… just how it should be.

Went in and had to try something with a kick… the Naga Chicken Pie 🌶️
And wow… flaky, buttery crust with a proper heat that creeps up on you but doesn’t overpower the flavour. Balanced, bold, and seriously addictive.

This isn’t just a pie… it’s a statement.

If you’re anywhere near Wigan, this is a must.

The infamous Wigan Kebab… but not as you know it.

Straight out of Muffin Man in Orrell, this is proper Northern comfort food done right. A thick, flaky pie, sandwiched in a soft barm… no cutlery, no fuss, just pure carb-on-carb brilliance.

Served with peas and gravy… because anything less would be a crime.

It shouldn’t make sense… but it absolutely does.

Crispy pastry, rich filling, soft bread soaking it all in… every bite is a reminder why this has legendary status up North.

Massive thank you to the amazing staff at Muffin Man, well looked after by the wonderful ladies.

If you know, you know. If you don’t… you need to get yourself to Wigan sharpish.

Bundobust doing what Bundobust does best 🙌🏽

Gujarati vegetarian street food done properly, paired with their own craft beers brewed specifically to work with spice — and it shows. From a welcoming masala chai, to chaat, farsan, shaak, and an Indian butty that absolutely stole the show… this was a cracking visit.

Big shout-out to Pranav and the team for looking after us so well. Proper hospitality, bold flavours, no messing about.
