🥚🇬🇧 A LITTLE REASSURANCE ABOUT THE EGGS WE SERVE 🇬🇧🥚

You may have seen recent news regarding people becoming unwell after consuming imported eggs.

With concerns being raised around the standards and origin of some imported eggs entering the UK, we wanted to reassure all of our customers at Daisy Haye Kitchen & Mill Street Kitchen about the eggs we use.

We’re proud to source our eggs locally from S B Mellor and sons Pethills (near bottom house) and the eggs we serve in both of our kitchens are British-produced eggs. 🇬🇧

British egg producers operate under strict UK controls for Salmonella, including regular monitoring and inspections to maintain high food-safety standards.

You can also check where an egg has come from by looking at the code stamped directly onto the shell:

🥚 1 = Free Range
🥚 2 = Barn
🥚 3 = Caged
🇬🇧 UK = Produced in the United Kingdom
🔢 This is then followed by the producer’s unique identification number. 14149
