Following a recent negative post regarding our current hen housing situation I thought I should offer an insight into our current situation.
Our birds are housed in barns to keep them safe at night. Normally they would free range all day, living their best life! Keeping them in is not what we want to do.
Bird flu means we have to keep our birds indoors- we don’t want to it’s the law- but they are happy, well fed, have enrichment activities and are very well cared for.
We have to follow government legislation like all egg producers.
As our loyal customers know our birds love our fields and would be free range if we could 🐓

Dear loyal customers,
We would just like to update you on our current opening situation. Following some mortality in our birds we sought veterinary advice, as our hen’s welfare is our upmost priority.
In line with government policy and procedures, we are required to shut pending test results. All movement on and off the farm has been stopped for another 6 days due to the current seasonal risk of bird flu.
We Thank you for your understanding and we look forward to welcoming you back soon.

Just to let you know that we will be open on Saturday 8-1pm as normal, closed Sunday but open Bank holiday Monday and Tuesday as normal.
