Come along to Fort Charlotte on Saturday 20th June, 11am–5pm to enjoy the very best of Shetland seafood — fresh, local, and caught by the hands that have fed these islands for generations.

See the menu attached to whet your appetite — there’s something for everyone, all proudly sourced from the seas around us.

A huge thanks go to the Charisma LK362, Copious LK985, Jimmy and Kenneth for donating fish for this event, and to our amazing volunteers who will be doning their aprons on Saturday to serve up the finest Shetland has to offer.

The Shetland Fishermen’s Association (the real SFA!) has today unveiled its official squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, featuring some very recognisable names from the world of both football and fishing.

𝑺𝑭𝑨🐟🤝⚽️𝑺𝑭𝑨

Shared captaincy of the squad is split between young shellfish supremo (j)𝐀 𝐑𝐎𝐁𝐄𝐑𝐓𝐒𝐎𝐍 and industry quota queen (m)𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐘 𝐑𝐎𝐁𝐄𝐑𝐓𝐒𝐎𝐍, ably supported by teammates 𝐑 𝐂𝐇𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐄 and 𝐑 𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐓.

• Vice-captain (j)A Robertson (KIAMA) – a steady hand at the helm, having worked with many leaders in his career, it’s now his chance to skipper the squad to success

• Vice-captain (m)ANDY ROBERTSON (SFPO) – every great team needs a hard-working statistician, with a keen eye for quota swaps and transfers

• R Christie (OPPORTUNE) – key to a well paired midfield partnership, he knows his way around a net and is sure to secure a good haul of goals

• R Stewart (ANTARCTIC) – an efficient and forward thinking mid-water trawler with a history of drifting to help out in other positions

Other key players included in the squad are:

(making a surprise comeback from injury, all he needed was a good feed o spoots)

We are so excited to announce our upcoming event - the Shetland Seafood: Midsummer Celebration.

The event features live cooking demonstrations from CJ Jackson, chef, broadcaster and Head of the Billingsgate Seafood School, alongside local chefs and seafood industry specialists.

We will also have a variety of member stalls, food and drink available to buy and enjoy, and even some live music!
