Last week we had the Norfolk Butterfly Conservation group tour our nature reserve.
Although the weather wasn't great we still managed to identify 10 different species. We counted a minimum of 128 butterflies.

This week we ringed 5 kestrel chicks. Our box has been up for just under 2 yrs and in that time we have ringed 9 kestrels chicks.

A good morning birding. Nothing out of the ordinary on the nature reserve. We were joined by 3 people from our caravan site. Some good sightings, the highligh being a pair of bullfinches foraging on the path.
As it was such a nice we walked off the farm to Hempstead marshes to see the Black Winged Kite. Distance sighting but a first for me.
