Remember Artwave Festival and our colouring sheets for the kids and the toadstool letterbox in our shop window? We have news!

Choosing a winner turned out to be impossible. Every single colouring sheet that came through our toadstool letterbox was brilliant, and we spent far too long looking at them all (they brightened up our days, thank you).

When our friends at Biona heard about our dilemma, they sent enough organic rainbow lollipops for every child who took the time to get creative for Artwave. Thank you, Biona!

If you posted a sheet, come and collect your prize from our Lewes shop. Just tell the team your name.

We also have a couple of wonderful entries with no contact details. If you know the artist behind these stunning pictures, please tell them to pop into the shop and claim their lollipops.

Super chuffed to have won The Sussex Business Green Award today 💚🥰

It took the speaker quite some time to read out all the ways in which we are ‘green’, which was basically a rundown of day-to-day operations at The Seasons. But gosh, it felt good to get recognition from the Sussex Business community for our dedication to:

We were honoured to host a lightbox again this year for ‘Stories Seen Through a Glass Plate’, the Edward Reeves Archive’s public exhibition of old photos of Lewes.

What a joy to see so many Lewes shop windows lit up with a century of local working life: a Victorian bird stuffer, a milliner who became one of the town’s first female jurors, a woman grave digger, families, street scenes, buildings (some still standing, some long gone).

We loved seeing so many people wandering the High Street, map in hand, stopping at each window from at the bottom end of town to right up top and so many in between*.

A big shout out to all the independent Lewes shops and businesses who gave a window to a lightbox and brought the town’s history to life, and to the Edward Reeves Archive for another brilliant exhibition.

Here’s hoping the lightboxes come out to play again soon. 💡

Happy 7th birthday to our Lewes shop, and a huge thank you to the team who run it! 🎂🌱

Seven years ago you opened the doors, and since then you've filled the shop with regulars, refill jars, veg from local growers and a lot of good conversations at the till. You know customers by name, you know when the grapefruit are at their best, and you've made this a place people drop into just to say hello 🫶

Proof we went: one photo, taken right at the end, once we’d finally stopped talking long enough to remember phones exist 🤦‍♀️

Main takeaways....

🌱 Producers we already trust are steadily innovating and solving real problems. Longstanding suppliers gave us even more reason to stock them, we loved all the new products, ideas, flavours and innovations aimed at things our customers ask us about, from the likes of Biona Meridian Foods Infinity Foods Co-operative Ltd Infinity Foods Wholesale Suma Wholefoods and more 💚

🧑‍🍳 We fell in love with new makers who know their food inside out, can name every ingredient’s origin and its nutritional value off the top of their head, because they made it themselves 🫶

💪 Protein was everywhere, and it was loud. Big bold numbers on pack after pack, the theme of the whole show floor. We’re aware too, it’s just already sitting in the food before anyone processes it out and puts it back in with a label on. That’s what happens when nothing’s been sprayed or stripped 🥦 The nutrients are already in the food. Because it’s food. That’s how it’s always worked.

🌊 One stand showed off packaging made from dissolvable seaweed. Brilliant, we loved it, though we don’t use plastic packaging, so this one’s for the rest of the industry to catch up on, but that didn’t stop us watching the demo twice 🤓

🍫 Some proper gorgeous new finds. Sugar-free sweet treats, healthy snacking vibes aplenty and beautiful nutritious foods that’ll elevate your dinner table 🍽️

September can't decide what season it wants to be, sunshine one day, jumper weather the next. So we've picked two ways to make the most of it.

Weleda sent us their gorgeous Elixir recipe booklet (we are a Champion Store, doncha know ;)) full of sublime drinks recipes with a serious health boost from the Weleda Elixir Range.

These are our two favourites right now: a Pretty in Pink smoothie for the warm days when your body wants something fresh, and a Sea Buckthorn Hot Toddy for the cold snap, when only something cosy will do. Both made with the Sea Buckthorn Elixir we stock in shop.

Our resident herbalist Jemma has a wealth of knowledge on the whole Elixir range. She's based in the Remedy Corner upstairs at our Forest Row shop, well worth a visit 🌱

Today we welcomed a very special guest to our Lewes shop. Meet Ella!

Ella plays for Lewes Football Club and this season, she's our sponsored player. She came in for a tour, met Robin and the team, and left with a hamper packed with the good stuff: nutrient-dense, protein-rich, real food to help fuel her training and keep her strong all season.

Because here's the thing about Ella: she's fearless, focused, and she's a phenomenal athlete who's curious about her own health and nutrition. That's exactly the kind of mindset we want to feed, literally.

Here's lovely Lucie, with her box of fresh seasonal organic fruit and veg, gifted by us to support the amazing work she does alongside @ with local kids every summer ☀️🫶🍎

Lucie Simon is a nutritional therapist and the founder of Feel Good Food. Each summer she and Lara from Press Play Films, run holiday workshops where kids eat (and drink!) the rainbow and, sometimes, turn fresh fruit into turtles, butterflies and flowers 🐢🍒🌸

Then they sit down and eat the lot together. The workshops run through the Holiday Activities and Food programme, the scheme that grew out of Marcus Rashford’s fight for kids to eat well beyond the school gates.

When Robin heard what Lucie was doing, he started donating free organic fruit and veg for every workshop, ever since.

Thank you, Lucie, for doing this work and for letting us be part of it. 🍓🦋
