Sussex Day is tomorrow! Celebrate the Harvey's way, and raise a pint of our brand-new Sussex Stronghold.

This special brew brings together hops from all five remaining Sussex growers, alongside barley grown in West Sussex, creating a beer that’s about as local as it gets.

A limited-edition 6.0% warming pale barley wine with ripe stone fruit flavours, luscious malt character and a balanced hop bitterness.

Fifty years ago, Sussex was home to 27 hop growers. Today, only five remain.

So for Sussex Day, we thought it was only right to brew something special.
Sussex Stronghold brings together hops from all five remaining Sussex growers, alongside barley grown in West Sussex, creating a beer that’s about as local as it gets. 🌱🍺

A limited edition 6.0% warming pale barley wine with ripe stone fruit flavours, luscious malt character and a balanced hop bitterness.

Bottles will be available online and in the Brewery Shop from tomorrow morning.

We’ll also be sharing a list of pubs and stockists pouring Sussex Stronghold on Monday, just in time for Sussex Day on 16th June. 💪

Join us to discover the stories behind Sussex pub signs with local historian Dr Janet Pennington.

From Red Lions to Royal Oaks, we’ll uncover the stories, folklore and hidden meanings behind some of Sussex’s most recognisable inn names, drawing on Dr Pennington’s extensive research into the county’s historic inns and taverns.

We’ll also be showcasing historic pub signs from across the Harvey’s estate, alongside original concept artwork by Lewes artist Julian Bell.

Your ticket includes a welcome drink on arrival, with Harvey’s beers available to purchase throughout the event.
