The long wait is over! St Aidens Bridge works are starting!

We’re really pleased to confirm that North Kesteven District Council (NKDC) has instructed Lindum Construction to carry out the long-awaited works to St Aidens Bridge.

Works are scheduled to begin on Monday 14th September.

We know residents have been waiting a long time for progress on the bridge, so we’re delighted to finally be able to share some positive news.

Thank you for your patience while we’ve continued to pursue updates and push for the necessary works to be undertaken.

We’ll share any further updates we receive as the works progress.

At last... the bridge is getting some TLC!

St Aidan’s Park - Apple Tree Update

Sadly, following the prolonged dry weather, at least three of the old apple trees at St Aidan’s have now died.

Given the history and significance of these trees, we sought a qualified opinion before making any decision. Unfortunately, their condition means that removal is now necessary due to the risk of natural failure, particularly because of their proximity to well-used pedestrian routes.

The works are scheduled to take place on Wednesday 9th September.

We know these trees are a familiar and valued part of St Aidan’s, and we appreciate that seeing them removed will be disappointing for many residents. However, public safety must be our priority.

On-site notices will also be displayed ahead of the works.

Thank you for your understanding and for helping us care for our local green spaces.
