This week Mark and Stu were out in Hook to tanker and jet the incoming pipe to a septic tank — and judging by the photos, that pipe was determined to make a long story even longer! 😄

It was certainly an extra-long run, but no pipe is too lengthy for the Alton Facilities team. Job done, flow restored, and another septic system given a proper clear-out. 💪

This week Stu has been out carrying out preventative maintenance on fuel and AdBlue tanks for Surrey County Council fire stations. 🚒

He’s been completing visual inspections, checking for any signs of damage, and making sure levels are kept tip top — because while maintenance might not sound like the most exciting job, it’s absolutely vital in keeping everything running safely and reliably.

A big shout out to all the firefighters who are always on standby for us, ready when we need them most. 👏

When pump removal isn’t straightforward, having the right team makes all the difference.

This week, Mike and Fin completed a pump removal on behalf of Southern Water. The unit needed to be removed from site, brought back to our workshop, diagnosed, and reported on — but access made this one more challenging than usual.

The pump was not only a considerable size, but it was also located around 15 metres from hard standing, meaning careful planning, the right equipment, and reliable support were essential.

A big thank you to B&A Transport, who helped us overcome the access and lifting challenges. Their ex*****on was second to none.

A real team effort over in Ockham, with Mike, Fin, Steve, Craig and Leeroy all jumping on a new set of pop-ups for the irrigation system. 💧

Not all heroes wear capes… some carry shovels. 💪

Our very own Steve, Craig and Leeroy have been hard at work in Kingston upon Thames, tackling a major drainage issue at a block of flats.

The existing setup had all drainage being sent down to a single pump chamber that was far too small for the job and, in reality, no longer fit for purpose. When the pump failed, the result was sewage backing up and spilling out at an unbelievable volume — a serious problem that needed a serious solution.

The lads are currently digging out a brand-new pump chamber in the basement by hand, (a to me, to you kind of situation we assume) making sure the system is rebuilt properly and safely for the future.

Tough conditions, hard graft, and a job that most people would run a mile from — but our incredible Groundswork team are getting it done.
