It’s been a busy start to the new school year. Lots of new, keen faces. Each day we are achieving so much. We have been improving farm areas, completing animal care and health tasks and maintaining and safely restoring tools and equipment. Lenny has proved himself to be very skilled at restoring even the most rusty tools back to their former glory.

There have been many highlights this week but this moment stands out. Just as I was going to start a bird box project with Ashton, Lenny offered to teach him how to do it. I stood back and smiled!!

We have seen some excellent examples of team work, whilst completing animal health tasks on the farm lately. Top quality work from all!

After my last post, Elliot and Lenny decided the animals also needed to be adventurous! Luckily they have everything under control in these moments of semi organised chaos! (The lambs were out too!)

Today’s lesson was to never lose your sense of adventure and ability to play. Challenge yourself to be adventurous and you stay young, fit and healthy!

It’s been a while since our last update so here is all of it in one go! Our new farm animals have settled in and are now strong members of the farm team!
The lambs got a bit poorly after they arrived but are healthy now and have grown so much. The goats started off very timid but have lately been showing their true adventurous characters!
The farm pupils have been working hard as always and are constantly pushing themselves to gain new skills and experiences. Well done all!

I was saying the other day that Seamus has been quite well behaved lately. It turns out he has actually been quietly planning another great escape!

This has been an exciting week! It’s now time to introduce Archie and Maggie, our two little Pygmy goats. They are settling in well and love the area that the farm pupils and Paul have spent so long preparing.

Welcome to the Granary Farm, Vinny and Bruno! They are already settling in well and will hopefully sleep well tonight on full tummies of milk. They met Elliot and Lenny today and are looking forward to meeting the rest of the farm pupils soon. Thank you Ed!

Yesterday was Callum’s turn to know what it feels like to achieve something that you’ve worked so hard for. He completed his BTEC folder as well! A massive well done to you Callum! This week has been a productive week for our yr11’s.
