6 November Harvest! 🍇

The harvest is all done and in the tanks. Many thanks to the 120 people who volunteered to help us bring in the Harvest. We harvested 2.3 tons of grapes! When taking into account how difficult the season was, it was a good result. It’s all in the tanks now maturing. 🍇

23 October Harvest! 🍇

We managed to get the Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier harvested. Despite a challenging year, we managed to press 1500 kilos. All in all it was a gerat success. Best sight in the vineyard... empty picking boxes!

An update from the vineyard! 🍇

This really has been a very interesting year. We had lots of frost in April, in fact 22 days of consecutive frost. We thought the vines had been burn but they were just dormant. They came through the frost not burn at all which was great. At the beginning of May the vines were about five week behind but they soon caught up. Lots of grapes and now we are waiting for sunshine to mature the grapes and for the sugars to reach the right levels for harvest. 🍇

As we haven’t seen many of you for a while we thought we’d give an update on our eco-mowers. There was one escape too many so they’ve been returned to their farm! Luckily they didn’t eat all of the garden!

Disaster!

The frost on 15 May was an absolute disaster! The vines are showing a little growth but by this time of year the shoots should be at least two feet high. There will definitely be no harvest this year.

Wildlife in the apple orchard!

The Oxeye Daisies in the apple orchard are looking amazing this time of year! It's really nice to see the bees buzzing around. We don’t use any type of w**d killer and you can see the benefit... isn't it beautiful?! 🍎🌺🌸🌻🌼🍏

DISASTER!! Last Thursday's air frost was an absolute disaster, it has completely decimated the vineyard. The vines will grow but it’s unlikely that we will get any grapes. This year is turning out to be a challenging year for humanity as a whole for so many reasons!! What to do, onwards and upwards... ❄️🍇

LAUNCH OF 2017:
We are launching our Blanc de Blancs on 16 May. This will give us three products to go to market for 2020. We have the Blanc de Blancs, the Rose and the Dry Sparkling Cider which is champnoise style and 8% proof. The three products are hand made from our apples and grapes in our winery with the help of the family and volunteers. The wine is made and blended by a master wine maker. This is an artisans approach to wine and cider making - it's fantastic! You will be amazed! 🍾🍾🍾
