The Royalty (Otley) 📍 Ad/PR/Invite

I was invited to over in Otley to check out their new menu. It's only 15 min drive from Apperley Bridge, so I decided to give it a go 👍

I haven't been to the pub in years, but I love that it's a perfect plane watching spot in the day, as you can see planes landing from the car park ✈️ they also have a nice cosy restaurant feel inside - which is where we were sitting.

We went on a Tuesday evening and opted for 3 courses.

🥓 Bacon and black pudding hash (it comes with an egg on top, but I can't eat egg, so had it without) - this was really nice and I'd go for this again (£7.50)

🍛 wild mushroom risotto - this was tasty but a little stickier than I would have liked (£13.95) - my friend had the pan fried hake which was really good (£17.50) 👍

🍫 chocolate fudge brownie with chocolate orange ice cream (£6.95)

Overall we had a lovely time and the service was great. If I was going again I'd be opting for one of the pub classics - like the pie, as the other dishes coming out looked super tasty 😋

So, I've never actually introduced myself on my feed, so I thought it was about time I did a little post about me 😊

I'm Fiona (previously Leeds Foodie Fiona) and I started this account back in 2020 when we were allowed to start eating out again, because I was annoying all my friends with my many foodie posts!

Back when I started my account, I just wanted to share my favourite places and to build lists of new places to try in and around Leeds/Horsforth. Since 2020 a lot has changed in my life and I'm no longer travelling into Leeds city centre every day, so I've decided to become Yorkshire Foodie Fiona because I tend to share more content from North Leeds and Bradford now anyway 🙌

I never started this to get invited to places, but it's always so lovely to receive invites to try new restaurants.

I'm really grateful for everyone who engages with my page ❤️ so thanks for following 🎉🎉🎉

Six by Nico Leeds 📍

Or Six by allergy 😂 I loved my recent trip to - I've been to one of their London restaurants before and was so excited to try the new Leeds restaurant and their Once upon a Time menu 😋

Unfortunately I have a few awkward allergies, which meant that I couldn't have some of the meat and veggie options as they were meant to be served, but it was no bother for the Six by Nico team 😀

I'm pretty sure they had to adapt every course for me - some had a different sauce, others I had to have the veggie or vegan option - but I still enjoyed every dish - the whole experience was brilliant!

I was also surprised by the value, as we thought it was going to be more expensive, but was £39 for Six courses, and we didn't feel hungry at the end either (which my partner thought we would do hahaha!)

Would highly recommend a visit if you're looking for a nice date night or just something different. Can't wait to go back again sometime soon ❤️

The Alchemist 📍 Liverpool

I've visited many times, but it's definitely been a while!

I loved the nduja cheese doughballs, which came with a syringe 💉 of cheese sauce 😋

Not too expensive, as around £15 for a main and under £10 for starters/small bites.

This was in Liverpool, but I know the Leeds restaurant is equally as good 👍

Los Angeles 🇺🇲

During our trip to LA we stayed in West Hollywood and I spotted a restaurant at the bottom of our street that looked fab, so we decided to check it out 😄

At Osteria La Buca we had a main course and dessert. For mains I had the ox cheek ravioli, which had been recommended on numerous reviews - and I wasn't disappointed!

We were enjoying the atmosphere and wine and hadn't noticed our food had taken a while to arrive, but the restaurant offered us a free dessert as an apology for the wait. We were eyeing up the desserts anyway, so we didn't say no!

The desserts were rich and filling and topped off a fabulous evening 👏

Disney California ✨️

Tomorrowland Skyline Terrace: Halloween 🎃

During our trip to California, we visited the original Disneyland ❤️ As part of my birthday present from my boyfriend, we booked in for the skyline terrace dining. This meant we had a seated terrace view of the Halloween fireworks 🎆 plus a seated meal beforehand.

There was a choice of 3 options for main and I went for the pork rice bowl. It was really tasty and a BIG portion! Chris had a fillet cheese steak, which looked tasty 😋

For dessert we both had the brownies, which were very rich and turned our lips purple 💜 😄

The only thing I can fault is that you had to queue up for your food, and then carry it over on a tray (dodging other people) and up to the sky terrace. I'm often quite clumsy, so I was a bit concerned that I'd drop mine (luckily I didnt). It was also a bit of a wait, which took the shine off the beginning of the experience.

Once we were up there the cast members were amazing and they made sure we were entertained with quizzes and games until the fireworks began.

The view for the fireworks was fabulous, and it was nice to be able to relax and just enjoy them 💫👻🎃

San Francisco 🛩🇺🇲

I love America, but especially love the food (even if my waistline doesn't!) I was lucky enough to be in San Francisco for two days, with one being on my birthday 🎂 🥳 so we had an extra special foodie day!

First up we visited marketplace in front of the Ferry building. They have lots of independent food stalls, so we opted for a bagel for my breakfast brunch from Daily Driver. I had avo, cream cheese and bacon on cinnamon raisen and it was delish.

Next up was Sorella for my birthday tea ❤️ I'd taken the time to scout out some of the best restaurants (that weren't too out of our budget!) and Sorella came up top - and best of all - it was a 5 minute walk from out hotel. We opted for the meatballs to start, which were so good, and then I had the lamb ragu 👌 we topped it off with a bottle of wine and were stuffed, but they brought out a mini dessert with a candle in for me anyway (always a nice touch!)

The final one to mention is of course, the clam chowder. Sadly I couldn't eat it because of my allergies, but I did try the chilli in a sourdough, which if I'm being honest, looked more appetising anyway! We got ours from Boudin, but there are so many options around Pier 39.

New menu alert ⚠️ 📢

Get yourself over to immediately! We were kindly invited to try the new menu and OMG it was amazing 👏 😍

We opted for the small plates and everything was delicious ❤️

We had:
Chorizo
Sriarcha chicken wings
Beef tacos
Paneer kebab
Nachos
Halloumi popcorn

Between two this was more than enough 👏 we also had two desserts, but I was absolutely stuffed 😅

10/10 from me! Amazing service, awesome food 👌

Hyde Park Book Club 📍

I was kindly invited to try the new evening menu that's recently launched - and LOVED IT 😍

The menu is completely vegetarian with some vegan options too. They offer a range of burgers, small plates, and loaded fries 🍟

We opted for...

Southern Fried 'Chicken' Burger
Truffle Mushroom & Garlic 'Beef' Burger
Loaded Salt & Pepper Fries
Rosemary & Smiked Sea Salt Fries

Loved the salt and pepper fries, which came with a sriacha and chilli oil, so had a nice kick to it! Also loved my mushroom burger (I'm a sucker for anything with mushrooms!)

It was a nice sunny evening, so we were able to sit outside. It has a real chilled out vibe to the place ❤️

Would recommend taking a trip to try. They also offer a brunch menu too, which looks delicious 😋

La Casita 📍

All you can eat tapas 🙌 on the last Sunday of every month does an all you can eat tapas option for £25 per person.

We visited the Ilkley restaurant and given a lovely window table 👌 the deal was that you order 3 dishes each, then you can continue ordering 1 per person. As you can imagine, the restaurant was busy and the team were rushed off their feet, so it was a little slow to get our 1 dish order in, but we still came away completely stuffed!

My favourites were definitely the bao buns and chorizo - all washed down with lovely sangria 🍷
