So today to celebrate the kids going back to school and a bit of me time I had my first attempt at aking Makki ki roti with Saron Saag.

Verdict: it's a lot more difficult than you think, or you have to seriously practice this Makki ki roti is corn bread roti and is traditionally served with Saron saag, a more creamy bitter spinach with lashings of butter!

The second picture shows my failed attempt, where it completely cracked because I thought i knew it all and rushed it! I salvaged it by baking it off so it wasn't wasted

Oh cookie dough pie in the oven for my kids!

Well done to my eldest, MashaAllah he passed his GCSEs with expected results and with much relief is going on to doing his A levels in subjects like Physics..I mean why?????..

At least he gets the opportunity to see the Large Hadron Collider in Geneva as part of his A levels..his father is super jealous!!

We went traditional tonight and chicken handi and roti as his celebratory meal, as that's what he wanted!

Well done to everyone who got the grades they needed to move on to the next chapter..and those who didn't, your next chapter is written!

It's going to be back on Thursday..or maybe Friday..by far the most popular cake baked last weekend.
We don't use regular buttercream, as I find that too sweet, this frosting is much more delicious!
We are closed tomorrow and will be supporting mpac on Wednesday.
The restaurant will be open on Thursday!
