📍 Zinglet Hot Chicken is on Conway Street in Birkenhead, near the bus station end and only around 10 minutes from Liverpool by train via Hamilton Square.

To be fair to them, this was only day two before the grand opening, so some of the issues could simply be teething problems. The burger itself was genuinely decent value and packed with chicken — they just need to tighten up the speed, presentation and consistency.

If you’ve tried it already, let everyone know what you thought 👀🍔

What makes Scouse stand ot from other stews

If the potatoes don’t fall… is it even scouse? 🥔🥘

Tried the scouse at The Railway and here’s my honest take…

It’s tasty, hearty, warming and a bargain. But for me, proper scouse should be thicker than an ordinary beef stew, with the potatoes breaking down into the gravy and helping give it that proper scouse texture.

That’s where the debate starts.

Because once the potatoes stop doing the work, are you still eating scouse… or are you just eating a very decent bowl of stew?

The Railway’s version is good pub grub, no doubt about that.
Is it how my nan made it? No.
Would I still eat it again? Absolutely.

So go on Liverpool…
where do you draw the line between scouse and stew?

The Smashwich at Nashville Cluck on Duke Street is one of those items that sneaks up and delivers – a juicy smashed beef patty, chopped and cheesed, sandwiched between their signature toasted bread for that extra crunch and flavour hit.

This spot has built a reputation as Liverpool's go-to for award-winning Nashville-style fried chicken (ingredients straight from the States), but they've quietly added some serious beef game too. Open late on Duke Street, it's perfect for when the usual suspects just won't cut it.

Grabbed one recently? What's your verdict – smash hit or needs more heat?
