West Derby’s new go-to spot for healthy but delicious food is Nutritious Hub.

Come for the huge portions, come for the banging flavours, come for the buzz of eating healthily, come for the friendly staff or come for the excellent prices, but you’ll soon see this little place is bringing big, bold ideas and there’s a reason it fills up quickly!

Whether you’re after a post gym pick me up or fuelling up for the day, offer protein smoothies, wraps, burgers, pastas and build your own boxes, as well as loads of tasty chef’s specials- you’ll be spoilt for choice!

🎶 whatcha doing? ✨Creating✨🎶

Listen, Liverpool is a city of creativity, and we loved this Paintvine Sip and Sculpt session, where we let our inner artists thrive!

This event was hosted at the iconic , so we could combine awesome cocktails with our clay creativity (claytivity!?), and what better place to inspire than this dynamic creative hub which is literally designed to support grassroots artists? 🍹🎨🖌️

The Sip & Sculpt sessions start with instructions on how to make your own pinch pot; you learn some basic clayworking techniques and then you’re free to explore in whichever directions you desire. We made an array of fun and functional pieces including jewellery dishes, chopstick stands, pencil holders, photo holders, and decorative items including a ghostie inspired by the York Ghost Merchants and a Bee inspired by my very delicious Beyoncé cocktail!

I love trying different things out and really enjoyed the freedom of this session, you could explore as you wished with experts on hand to offer advice too. It was so nice to spend an hour lost in creativity!

If you’re not saying ‘let’s go’ after seeing Liverpool’s first seafood boil… we are not in any way the same 😂 hosts this delightful Seafood Soirée, and this stunning seafood platter is *more* than enough to feed two hungry seafood lovers!

We had an absolutely *cracking* time (and they provide gloves if you’re worried about the mess!) I can confirm their French martini was absolutely delicious too 👌🏻🍸

Descend down the steps on Colquitt Street to find this newly opened debauched cocktail haunt, playing boogie, soul and upbeat funk Wednesday-Sunday. Indulge in some risqué sounding but delicious cocktails like the ‘caress-amac’, ‘chubby chaser’ or ‘50 shades of earl grey’, head into a sumptuous booth, and use the internal phones to dial a crush and get flirty 😘

Now, we’re not suggesting you *have* to be naughty here…but the decor might tease out your wild side!

Where can you find optical illusions, mind bending puzzles, green screen action, upside-down mayhem, beauty, awe and wonder (and if you’re really lucky, a quirk-tini)? Well that will be at the fabulous !

As a full time optical illusion nerd, I loved the nods to MC Escher, Rubin and Dali, with classic tessellation, negative space, melting clocks and Muller-Lyer forced perspective fun. You will also find bonkers upside-down scenes, Cube style games, music, weather forecasting, a golfing adventure, and more surprises around every corner! (With knowledgeable staff on hand to explain and help you set up awesome photos…because who doesn’t love that!!) 📸

To top it off there’s a brilliant, rather Traitors-esque feeling mirror maze, and a bar for if you’re feeling thirsty, or in need of a straightener to steady your racing mind after all the mind boggling sights inside!

We were also treated to a magician and some rather delicious snacks during the recent 5 year celebration, but we felt that it has stayed as cool and interesting as the day we first discovered it (swipe for a golden oldie from Jan 2020!)

Definitely a very fun place to check out, whether you’re looking for a mate date, an afternoon of family fun, or some intellectual stimulation. Highly recommended!

is bringing some of that ✨Las Vegas energy ✨ to Liverpool.

Think opulent interiors, flowing drinks for all sorts of celebrations, and curated areas depending on your needs: upstairs you will find games like pool, shuffleboard and tech darts, leading out onto ‘The Deck’- which overlooks Concert Square, and is sure to be well sought after. Downstairs is a high energy space which will host live sports viewings, DJs and group celebrations, and tucked underneath will be a late night club. There’s even a velvet curtain to pull back into a photo booth like no other!

We can’t wait to see their signature cocktails and vibey nightlife! Opening at 4pm tomorrow!

After watching the packet noodles episode from the Secrets of a Chinese Supermarket series from aka & (definitely check this series out), I’ve been wanting to get my hands on some curry Demae Ramen for Ste, the most obsessed Katsu Curry man in the land. So while Liverpool is experiencing the most unearthly amount of rain, I popped into and picked up this little lot (who can buy just one thing in a food haven like ejoy!?)

Special shoutout to the most impulsive of my buys, the shrimp flakes, which may contain cr*ck cos they’re effing delicious and I’ve almost demolished them in about 2 minutes. Plus, they’re covered in otters!!! 🦦😍 Utterly worth my soaked shoes. 10/10

Will update on the ramen when we’ve eaten them 🤩

We recently thoroughly enjoyed a lovely meal at .bar.restaurant, located at the top end of Smithdown Road (opposite Spitroast)

This vibrant Mediterranean restaurant and bar is family run, and the quality of the food was excellent!

🍹🍸We love a cocktail with dinner, and our S*x on the Beach and Mohito were genuinely delicious- we would pop in here for a cocktail any day!

🧆 For starters we shared hummus and tzatziki (both generous servings, beautifully presented, and perfectly paired with fluffy Turkish bread- absolutely wonderful; as well as Chicken Meatballs and Spicy Potato Spring Rolls, which did have a bit of a kick but were pretty tasty too! This was ample for the 4 of us, and had us eager for our mains!

🐟🍚 For my main I chose the pan fried Sea Bass- flaky and flavoursome, with so much flavour, and served with the yummiest garlicky golden potatoes, I thought this was a really well presented and an all round fantastic dish. Ste got the Mixed Shish kebab, the meats were tender and well cooked, and he really enjoyed both the lamb and chicken- a great choice if you want the best of both worlds! The Adana Kebab and Lamb Chops were equally well presented and flavoursome, and these dishes all had fluffy rice, salad and a tortilla accompaniment- we all left with full and happy bellies and you can’t ask for more than that really can you!

Definitely an asset to Smithdown Road and one to try if you like to support local, as well as wanting wholesome and delicious food.
