Summer 2026 has been a challenge on the farm, so its sometimes good to look at the things that are working. Leaving longer swards has preserved some grazing, the trees and new hedges are providing some fodder and shade and my favourite plant chicory always seems to grow using its long tap root to search out some water.

Its a tricky time farming in a drought but unfortunately a large part of the South west are experiencing a big outbreak of Blue Tongue Virus.
If you haven't heard about the virus that is spread by midges please read below.
We have vaccinated our stock and we are hoping that will be enough so we avoid the worse, but all we can do is wait and see.

Elsa is off on holiday so she won't be The Food Barn - Tregew CIC with lamb on Saturday, she will be back 25th July.
Its part holiday, part adventure to Norway with canoeing. She is there with The Leadership for Good Academy a project for young adults helping them to work towards fulfilling their potential while hopefully having fun.
It can be difficult coming back to work on your home farm, trying to work out roles for the future and taking on more responsibilty. Nevil and I try to encourage all the family to try out different things and we love it that they are all prepared to challenge themselves to learn and grow. No doubt Elsa will be back with lots of new ideas, enthusiasm and many great stories.

We all had a fabulous time last night down at the Lizard Annual Hoedown! This is our third year now and it just keeps getting better :-) x

Thank you for everyone who attended Open farm Sunday last Sunday we had a fabulous time!
Many thanks to Cornhill Farm and Rosuick Farm for the loan of the trailers, The Brownies for the BBq and all the lovely helpers and stall holders who always make the day so much fun.

Lots of parking in the field, just follow the signs!
Dogs on short leads very welcome but please NO dogs in the sheep barn.
Refreshments include BBQ, Sylvias salads, cakes and cream teas.

Tractor & trailer rides to the point.
