Let me introduce you to the moo coos
Buttercup and Blackberry, they should be my two milk cows. Milking for myself if I ever find the time!
Bramble a dairy x Aberdeen Angus, a bit aloof will be my main beef producing cow. I used semen from an Aberdeen Angus to give me a beefier calf.
As you can see I'm a very small beef operation, so the meat I produce is definitely niche. It will take another two years for Coal to reach the butchers .
The beef I'm selling this year, one cow for next year, come from the cows that weren't suitable for breeding. Dairy beef, hung for 30 days, lean and tender.
Two days ago in the sun, the grass looked green and lush, today it's damp and cold and looks grazed up. They are all in because they were visited by the vet yesterday for Coal. I doubt they will want to go back out now but it's a bit early to house them for winter.
