Last weekend, I had the absolute pleasure of travelling to Dorset to create and deliver this spectacular wedding cake display for M&B at the breathtaking St Giles House in Wimborne.
An eight-hour return journey — and worth every single mile!

They chose the timeless elegance of a traditional Lambeth-style wedding cake and very kindly gave me free rein with the creative detail. Working from the couple’s mood board and inspiration images, I designed the cakes to reflect their vision while ensuring the finished display complemented the overall styling and atmosphere of their wedding day.
And this was certainly a display designed to make an impact…
Ten individual cakes were brought together to create one magnificent statement arrangement, each featuring traditional hand-piped detailing and finished with beautiful fresh cherries. The result was wonderfully romantic, opulent and nostalgic — a contemporary interpretation of a true cake-decorating classic.
St Giles House provided the most incredible backdrop. The outdoor ceremony took place within the beautiful estate grounds, followed by the wedding reception in the magnificent Library. The cakes were given their own moment to shine, taking centre stage in the Ballroom during the drinks reception — and what a setting it was!
It was such a privilege to play a small part in this beautiful celebration and to see months of ideas and planning finally come together in such spectacular surroundings.

C & L chose a romantic, Parisian themed cake, which complemented her stunning detailed gown, incorporating a fabulous urn, supplied by Megan and Claude who also styled the venue.

The cake was finished with faux florals arranged by myself, to complement the beautiful fresh florals by Ruth Miltonjones Flowers By Design .

C & L recently got married in Felinfoel, followed by a beautiful wedding reception at the Diplomat hotel.

Carly requested a romantic, Parisian themed cake, which complemented her stunning detailed gown, incorporating a gorgeous urn, supplied by Megan and Claude who also styled the venue.
