Just a reminder.....

🍗 Don't forget a cool bag/ice packs to take home your delicious oven ready chicken.

🪶 You might want to bring overalls or a change clothes - plucking can be a messy business!

It's all about the cows and sheep this weekend.

Saturday : Sheep Health & Husbandry
Sunday: Cattle for Beginners

Looking forward to meeting lots of keen smallholders.

Forecast is good - looks like the heatwave will have passed, and we'll be able to do lots with the livestock. (Can't really ask the sheep to participate in a handling demo when it's 31C....)

Both litters of piglets were weaned on Thursday.

Everyone seems very happy with the arrangement!

The piglets have been enjoying eating in peace, without mum flinging them across the paddock (anyone who csme on last week's pig course got a good demo of this not-very-maternal behaviour!)

The sows were pleased to be back together, and soon settled down together for a well deserved snooze.

Both sows are now back in season, and it was AI day today... hopefully that means more piglets in the Autumn!
