AND THAT'S A WRAP for the 2026 season !
We've finished our final late summer harvest and have come to the end of our seasonal produce.
The hens have decided to cut down their egg production drastically, since the autumn equinox brings more dark hours than daylight and signals their permission to rest.
We had hoped that our autumn crops would see us through a little further towards Christmas but we've been slack with planting over the past few months because...mumma Michelle has been growing A BRAND NEW BABY!!
Morning sickness, early pregnancy exhaustion and homesteading through the toughest of summers has been quite the challenge! So our succession planting for autumn didnt quite go to plan 🫣🤣
All of our surplus preserves from our bountiful summer harvests have SOLD OUT (way quicker than we had even imagined!) and our own family pantry is stocked to last us through the winter months.
As the nights draw in and focus turns inwards we will be closing the shed for regular weekend trade until the spring when we will kick start the 2027 season of sharing our homegrown and homemade wholesome, honest, organic foods and essentials with you all once again.
We are planning on doing some one-off specials around Halloween and Christmas (think Spiced pumpkin and Christmas Flavours) and we shall pop these here on this page for orders in due course x
We are so very grateful for every single bit of foot traffic, every order, every purchase, every conversation with customers old and new, and every bit of support even the smallest of cheers and bits of encouragement.
It's meant the absolute world to us. Especially Renée whose dream was to have a baking business one day 🩷
We started making to order locally in 2025 and opened The Homestead Shed at Easter 2026. We didn't open the shed for regular sales during August but we worked our backsides off keeping up with the abundance of blessings from our garden and turning them into products.
We hope you've enjoyed what we've produced this year and furthermore we hope you tasted and felt our passion for seasonal, natural, chemical-free things that have come from the land and our "back to basics" approach.
When we moved to Loddon 2 years ago, we had a dream as a family to be more self sufficient, healthier, have more structured quality family-time, reduce our overall toxin exposures and produce foods, medicines and household products where we knew exactly what they contained.
Never in our wildest dreams did we think we would surpass this and be so blessed in abundance so quickly to share with our local community, friends and family.
THANK YOU LODDON for welcoming us to the village and for supporting our little dream.
This isn't goodbye, but "see ya soon".
With love and well wishes from Michelle & Renée 🙏🩷😍
