🌸 Rosé Revolution ✊

I hosted a rosé masterclass last night that covered lifestyle, celebrity brands, what actually defines a rosé, whether it is still seen as a “women’s wine,” the many different styles being made around the world, and what might come next…

🍷I got to travel to Crete today (via a spectacular lunch organised by Effi Tsournava DipWSET Vinocial Wine Marketing )

🇬🇷 Effi presented Domaine Paterianakis, one of Crete’s pioneering wine estates.

👩‍🌾 Women-led by sisters Emma and Niki Paterianaki

🌿 Crete’s first certified organic winery

🏺 Part of an island wine culture stretching back more than 4,000 years to the Minoan civilisation

🌬️ High-altitude vineyards cooled by winds and fresh mountain air

🍇 Indigenous grapes include Vidiano (mineral, saline, stone fruit) & Kotsifali (a bit of Pinot Noir profile)

Lunch was at the new juls.london led by the fantastic sommelier Klearhos Kanellakis (whose mother is from Crete) 💖

The food was brilliant, and the pairings unexpected - seafood dishes with juicy red wines, roast lamb with deep pink rosé, and I was already convinced by the first white Vidiano- a mineral, saline, fresh style with a slight bottle lemon finish. What a treat!!!

🌋 Wine Salon Session IV: Wine & Landscape
Volcanic Wines | 25 June

For this fourth Wine Salon Session, we explored how landscape shapes the wine in the glass.

We travelled through volcanic regions, from the black slopes of Mount Etna to the wind-battered vineyards of Santorini, the ancient lava flows of Soave, the dramatic vineyards of Tenerife, and the Atlantic island of Madeira.

✨These wines gave us so much to talk about: altitude, isolation, resilience, and the extraordinary freshness and energy that volcanic landscapes can bring to wine.
We even had a go at recreating Tenerife’s trenzado and Santorini’s kouloura vine training with grape vines I brought from my garden.

✍🏼These evenings help shape the book I am writing. A way to appreciate wine through art, history, landscape, and culture. Instead of strict rules or exams, these salons encourage curiosity, conversation, and the pleasure of sharing something meaningful around the table.

A dreamy Sussex weekend of family camping!
Glorious weather, delicious local wine, meat, veg and cheese… a bracing swim at Seven Sisters… and soft landing back to London with more Rathfinny Estate and English cheese! Can not believe this all 2 hours drive from home 🥰

🍷🎨 For our third Wine & Art, we followed Picasso’s life through the wines, landscapes, and flavours of the places he called home.

☀️From a sunny Mediterranean-style apéro on the Thames to drawing our wine impressions in pastel and designing our own wine labels, this was our most interactive wine salon yet.

💫Together we travelled from Andalucía to Galicia, Catalunya, Paris, and Provence, exploring the wines of each region, while tracing Picasso’s life and art.

📖 These evenings help shape the book I’m writing on exploring wine through story, place, and culture.
