We aim to raise funds for grassroots rugby by giving £6 per case sold to your nominated rugby club or charity. The Rugby Wine Club is a new concept launching in May 2021 and has been established by a small group of wine lovers (who are also mad keen rugby fans) and former players including England's world cup winning legend Mike Tindall. Our main aim is to help to raise funds for grass roots rugby
by asking rugby club members to move their current wine buying from the supermarket to us. For every bottle purchased from TRWC your club benefits by receiving at least 50p of the profit and you will be drinking a wine that you have tasted and you already know you love. We also want to help our members learn a little more about wine (and our wines in particular) in a fun and non-intrusive way, for instance with wine tastings at your club, short light-hearted tasting videos featuring our wine makers and rugby stars accessible on your PC, mobile or tablet using the QR code on the bottle. We particularly like to promote organic wines from wine makers that we know and love as this is great for both the planet and also for you - the lack of chemicals massively reduces the after effects, so no hangovers (unless you go really mad!). If your club has not yet signed up with us as a club-hub then you can instead choose to support a rugby-related charity such as Head for Change, My Name is Doddie or Rugby for Heroes, so you will always know that you are helping to improve the game we all love. The basic principle is that instead of buying wine that you don’t know, bottle by bottle from a faceless supermarket (which soon adds up by the way) you order and pay for the wines you need and have already tasted from our website or at a tasting and select your club as the beneficiary. MEMBERSHIP IS COMPLETELY FREE AND THERE IS NO OBLIGATION TO BUY ANY WINE AT ALL. Your wine is delivered directly to your club each month and you pick it up when you are next there to watch a match or when taking your kids to a match or for training. Each club has a contact (the club champion) who can sort out any local requirements. By using our unique club-hub delivery mechanism, we all save on delivery costs which in turn means prices are lower for you and more funds can be passed back to your club. To take even more hassle out you can subscribe for a case (or more) each month to match your needs and by doing this you will also maximise the benefit for your club, so everyone wins! TRWC will hold regular wine tastings at your club as well as touchline tastings to grab your attention - so you can drink our wines and decide which ones you like the most and help your club by taking some home with you. From 2022 (when we all hope travel will be easier) we plan to offer relaxed weekend wine tasting trips to the vineyards in France for those of you who want to meet the winemakers, learn a little more and, of course, sample more wines!
