Happy International Borsch Day!

Today is the celebration of this iconic Ukrainian dish, a dish that encapsulates so much of Ukrainian culture, history and character and differs between each region.

A dish that is recognised by UNESCO on its Intangible Cultural Heritage List and the inspiration for our Beetroot Mary and a dish that goes very well with vodka.

Please think of Ukraine today as this dish is hugely important to every Ukrainian.

What an amazing achievement in any industry and especially given the need to showcase incredible resilience in adversity.

Courage, resistance, bravery and resilience are four of the most common words associated with Ukraine and Ukrainians defending their freedom and existential survival and this hasn’t changed after 4 years since the start of the full scale invasion.

I would like to thank everyone who has helped and is helping Ukraine resist and I am in awe of what Ukrainians keep doing.

Thank you to the soldiers defending Ukraine, the combat medics and volunteers helping near the frontline, the tireless emergency workers, the bakers providing food, the railways supplying key supplies and returning loved ones, the drone operators, the journalists showing the truth, the countless charities and volunteers providing supplies from medical kits to generators to vehicles to Ukraine as well as driving them over, the incredible people fighting for justice and for discovering and showcasing the countless war crimes, the daily protestors globally ensuring Ukraine’s message continues being heard, the phenomenal people raising funds for Ukraine through food, drink, film, music, culture and everything else. Thank you to everyone who is helping Ukraine in some way.

4 years of resistance and dignity, showcasing the best of humanity against the worst. The Ukrainian spirit is unbreakable.

Ukraine is still more than standing and please continue to keep standing with Ukraine.
