Some merchants make you jump through hoops for bottles like this.
Not us.
No allocations. No tied purchasing. No quiet back-room list. Just 12 bottles of each, online now, first come first served.
If you don’t already know Jean-Baptiste Semmartin of Domaine Lajibe, he’s a former French fencing champion turned winemaker in Jurançon, South-West France.
Trained in Bordeaux and Burgundy, but it’s mostly Jura’s influence we see in his wines.
JBS works with careful deliberate oxidation with zero fining, filtration or even sulphites. The results? Crazy intensity. Rich and heady with the aromatics of Petit and Gros Manseng as precise as the épée he put down all those years ago...
12 bottles each of:
Mansengs 2023: £43. Grapefruit, white peach, sour pineapple. Juicy and tense with a long, mouthwatering finish.
‘Serres-Seques’ Jurançon Sec 2023: £69.50. This fruit was destined to become sweet Jurançon, JBS altered its course with this vintage. Pink grapefruit, tart white peach, sesame, salty minerality.
