From a bird’s eye view, our meandering path draws the contour of a hand caressing the land. Carefully designed to slowly immerse you in the landscape, it follows a series of curves that mirror the seasons and the ever-changing rhythms of nature, guiding you gently through wildflower meadows and into the heart of our permaculture kitchen garden, where raised circular beds echo the seeds of a fruit.

We welcome you to wander through the wild and native plants of our flower meadow, smell the scents of lavender, rosemary and sage, relax under the embracing fronds of our willow tree, explore what’s growing in our organic kitchen garden.

Now showing in the Barn: Hannah Fletcher, our May Artist of the Month. 🌿

Hannah’s exhibition Photo.Petro.Chemical.Capital traces the hidden relationship between photography and the petrochemical industry, reimagining archival Shell imagery through fossil-fuel-free, low-toxicity techniques. Iron salts and botanical toners replace silver; insects replace pesticide propaganda.

View the exhibition during our National Garden Scheme Open Day (31 May) and London Open Gardens (6–7 June).

Bubbling with curiosity, connection and fermented goodness, the Fermenters Guild Symposium at OmVed Gardens was an absolute joy 🫧

We welcomed back to OmVed the legendary fermenter Sandor Katz for two incredible days, alongside some of the most exciting voices in fermentation.

In the panel, we heard how ‘Fermentation Shapes Society & Culture’, hosted by Dr Neil Buttery with Dr Johnny Drain , Sam Cooper .sam.black, Olia Hercules , Kenji Morimoto and Sandor himself.

The buzzing marketplace featured fermented treats from .ferm.london .sauce.

Our kitchen team served up some delicious food, including brine shots and a grazing table featuring some of our favourite ferments.

Day 2 was a deep dive masterclass on Koji & Mould Fermentation with Sandor and the brilliant Haruko Uchishiba

Huge thanks to everyone involved and who came along, plus a special thank you to the entire team for a wonderful collaboration! 🧡

A revolutionary return to an old idea…

You may have noticed it nestled within the gardens, our new underground fridge, this is the first one in the UK.

Long before electricity, people relied on root cellars to keep their produce fresh, and the Groundfridge revives this wisdom in a beautifully modern form. Using the natural insulating qualities of the earth, it naturally maintains a temperature of between 8 and 15 degrees, with a solar-powered ventilator helping to regulate the temperature - meaning the whole system runs entirely free of mains electricity.

Planting around it provides insulation in winter and a cooling effect in summer, meaning the denser the vegetation grows, the more effective it becomes. We’re excited to watch the new planting mature 🌱

If you’re lucky enough to join us at one of our events or supper clubs, the chances are you’ll be tasting something that spent time quietly resting in this unique fridge.
