Here’s Sam, Brand Activation Manager UK, on an exceptional bottling of Karuizawa - a legendary Japanese ghost distillery in Nagano Prefecture.

This expression (limited to just 211 bottles) is comprised of 2 individual sherry hogsheads from 1999/2000 that were subsequently finished in a Pedro Ximenez butt that previously held Caol Ila.

The decanter, inspired by Hokusai’s iconic print, The Great Wave Off Kanagawa, was hand blown by esteemed Italian glassmaker Simone Cadense.

Treasures from the Berry Bros. & Rudd archives: 1980s Orange Curacao and Cherry Brandy from the days when BBR used to have its own lineup of liqueurs 🍊🍒

Brand Activation Manager takes us through Watenshi, an extraordinary gin from Cambridge Distillery.

They use extremely low pressure and temperature to capture just 15ml per run (about 50 distillations for a single bottle) of spirit that would otherwise be lost to evaporation - known, in this context, as the Angels Share 💨

This yields incredibly complex flavours from rare Japanese botanicals, pushing the boundaries of what gin can be 🍸

We were thrilled to recently welcome Sho Haku (considered one of the greatest sumo wrestlers of all time) to Berry Bros. & Rudd as part of a visit from esteemed sake producer noguchi and Tengu Sake 🍶

The highlight was recreating the 1994 photograph of two sumos being weighed on the famous scales to promote Cutty Sark wh**ky in Japan. Originally for merchandise, the scales have been used for weighing Berry Bros & Rudd clientele since the 1760s, including Lord Byron, Lady Churchill and William Pitt the Younger ⚖️
