Sometimes people wonder if buckwheat tea (soba-cha) is actually a tea…

Mainly because it’s made out of roasted buckwheat, not tea leaves 🍃

But the name itself gives you a clue: 茶(cha) means tea in Japanese, Chinese, and Korean.

Add hot water and it becomes a smooth, nutty caffeine-free drink with warm, toasty notes 🍵

True, it doesn’t contain tea leaves, but it’s brewed and enjoyed in exactly the same way… and it tastes delicious too.
