In 1972 at a private party for The Rolling Stones at Trident Bar on the Frisco Bay waterfront, The Stones were introduced to a ‘Tequila Sunrise’ by barman Bobby Lazoff.

Simple to make and easy to tour with, the band took it across the country turning it into the signature serve that fueled their Tequila Sunrise tour.

Today it's 'Hurricane Hour' with Ian Burrell where every week we share a rum recipe you can follow along and make at home. This week it's Ian's 'Jamaica Sunrise', to watch the full video, head to our YouTube page here: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=CEe5Zb14n68&ra=m

⚡ GOLD & SILVER ⚡
Both our Crossfire Hurricane rums have been recognised at the 2026 International Wine & Spirit Competition — the benchmark for quality since 1969.

🥇 Crossfire Hurricane Gold — Gold, 96 points

🥈 Crossfire Hurricane Reserve — Silver, 92 points

Judged blind against thousands of spirits from across the globe, with two medals coming home in a single year. We’re rather proud of that one. 🥃

Cheers to everyone who’s been part of the journey.

We’re proud to share that both Crossfire Hurricane Gold and Crossfire Hurricane Reserve have been awarded the coveted 5-Star rating by respected independent spirits reviewer Sean Ludford and BevX.

“Wonderfully complex with a charming hogo accent that we want from Jamaican pot-still rums.” Crossfire Hurricane Gold

“Full-bodied and ideally balanced with an opulent texture.” - Crossfire Hurricane Reserve

Having reviewed more than 500 rums, Sean has awarded only a handful of 5-Star ratings over the years. With Gold and Reserve both earning the distinction, Crossfire Hurricane now joins an exceptionally exclusive group.

Created in partnership with Ian Burrell and inspired by Jamaica’s rich rum-making heritage, this recognition reflects our commitment to authenticity, craftsmanship and, above all, quality. 🥃🔥

In November 1972, the Rolling Stones arrived in Jamaica. A place that was open to sound, experimentation and outsiders.

They recorded Goats Head Soup during this period, immersing themselves in the island’s rhythm and creative energy at Dynamic Sound Studio, the legendary Kingston studio known for its groundbreaking sound and unmistakable atmosphere.

Ian Burrell’s tasting tips this week with Crossfire Hurricane Gold - bright citrus, warm spice and smooth vanilla. It’s unmistakably Jamaican from the very first pour with no added sugar.

As Ian says, perfect in a Jamaica sunrise.
