Have you tried our Kiwi Tea Collection? 🍃

Compare all three teas from the first tea garden in New Zealand - one of the most extraordinary terroirs on the planet.

Crafted in 3 different ways, Waikato Green, Waikato Oolong and Waikato Black are remarkably different but equally delicious teas.

When people say the craft of tea is like wine - they are not wrong. Each unique terroir yields unique flavours in the plant. And then there is how you grow and craft the raw materials into a finished tea.

Stunning view from Tinjure Tea Cooperative, Ilam, in the Himalayas of Nepal - from 's visit in April.

This is home to our Nepali Gunpowder Green. Grown, harvested and expertly crafted for the most exquisite flavour, unique to their mountain terroir.

Tinjure was one of the first tea cooperatives created in Nepal in 1995. Together they accomplished something truly remarkable by founding their own factory in 2013.

Most small holder farmers are reliant on selling their fresh leaf to tea factories, usually owned by vast international corporations who process their leaf into finished tea - and take the lion's share of the value.

Tinjure is unique: the factory and land are owned by the farmers. The management committee is selected by the farmers through an annual general meeting.

Today, more than 230 households make up the cooperative. We buy direct from the cooperative at the price they ask - so they do not have to lose any of the value through processors, middlemen or brokers.

A brilliant example of tea change.

Our cold infused teas are lovely on their own or as a perfect pairing (without the hangover of an expensive bottle of wine).

From the brilliant tea innovators of Satemwa in Malawi, our Malawi White Silver Tips make an especially exquisite cold infusion.

Super simple to make at home, using 8 grams per 1 litre of cold water. Infuse overnight in the fridge and voila - you've got something incredible to drink in the morning, with dinner, or as an indulgence any time of day.

Lemon Blend is a truly global herbal infusion. Vibrant lemongrass from Sri Lanka and Malawi is blended with soft and smooth Malawian Lemon Verbena.

A deliciously full-bodied and bright infusion with grassy notes of fresh hay, lifted by the sweetness of lemon drops.

The Sri Lankan and Malawian lemongrass and lemon verbena are year-round, sustainable crops that are grown mostly by women on small plots of less than a hectare. These harvests provide essential income for their families. We are proud to support them.

The cooperative of 34 women farmers grow tea organically among the densely forested and beautiful nature of the region.

All their tea plants come from seeds grown from just 5 tea bushes found in the garden behind second king's palace.

We are beyond excited to share their incredible tea with you soon - and more of their fascinating story.

Chinese Misty Green is an elegant green tea perfect for cold infusions. The long, slow, cold extraction elevates the sweet, soft grassy notes, with a silky mouthfeel.

From Jinhua, in the Zheijang Province in China, the tea is grown and crafted in a deeply forested area, where more than 80% of the terrain is hillsides and mountain.

Farmed according to ancient tradition, without chemical fertilisers, pesticides or insecticides, this is a beautifully clean, bright tea.

NEW tea drop! First Flush Hojicha.

This is the most delicious Hojicha we've ever encountered.

From the renowned 200-year-old Moriuchi tea garden, this is a truly exceptional Hojicha. Incredibly rich and robust, with a full spectrum of flavour from the finest spring sencha, expertly roasted by a great tea master.

Notes of roasted hazelnut, fresh walnut with the elegant hint of tannin and leather found in great Shiraz or well-developed Syrah wines. Deep and toasty with the fresh notes of a spring tea. Soft umami and lingering sweetness.

With so many delicious teas, it can be hard to pick a favourite.

So we've asked the Rare Team to choose some of their favourites at the moment - starting with Maxwell, Sales Manager (who also happens to be a rockstar - literally).

☕ Malawi Coffee Leaf - "From the brilliant people at Satemwa in Malawi, this is an inventive and zero-waste tea. It's also incredibly delicious, with chocolatey and umami flavours."

💮Malawi White Peony - "Also from Satemwa, this is a beautiful whole leaf white tea. I really enjoy the massive leaves and notes of apricot. Brilliant as a cold infusion on a hot day."

🍃Nepali Gunpowder Green - "From Tinjure in Nepal, this Gunpowder Green makes a great mangoey cold infusion, completely unique to their tea garden."
