Shurwa 🤤

A signature Afghan dish, shurwa is a rich dish commonly cooked in many cities in Afghanistan.
Lamb meat boiled in a tomato stew with potatoes, carrots, turnip, chick-peas and PLENTY of black pepper served on a bed of chopped bread. The broth is poured on the bed of bread and is left to soak slowly.
Served with afghan salata, shurwa, although may seem bizarre to those unfamiliar with it, HAS to be tried by every human on earth 🤩

Qabuli Kabuli baa Murgh 🤤

Basmati rice cooked in a dum pot with chicken broth and pieces, Qabuli is commonly garnished with fried carrots and raisins.
The people of Kabul, as well as many other provinces in Afghanistan, cook the meat broth and the rice separately. They then steam it in a dum-pot.
The term Dum means 'to be steam-cooked slowly', many of the Afghan dishes are cooked 'Dum style'. Tastes heavenly😍

Landi Palau Uzbeki ba Tahdigi 🤤

One of the most heavenly tasting signature Afghan dish, Landi Palau or Palau 'gosht qaaq', is EVERYONES favourite!
Tender lamb leg sliced and cured for 40 days in salt until dry- landi Palau is unique to the afghan culture!
Lapis Lazuli will be the first Afghan food company that will serve Landi Palau 😎
The cured lamb pieces are then steamed and cooked with basmati rice until every bite of rice tastes of meat. Tahdigi is the crispy rice at the bottom of the dish, personally, I can't eat palau without the tahdig 😍

Sambosa Goshti Mazari 🤤

'Sweet meat Samosas'- a twist to the traditional asian samosas, afghans love experimenting and usually it turns out pretty great!

Seasoned lamb wrapped in crispy layered puff pastry and topped with caster sugar and ofcourse, cardamom! If you haven't yet, this dish is common in Mazar-e-Sharif or Uzbeki-speaking cities in Afghanistan, again one of my personal favourites 😍
