We’re very excited to say that our Barbados 2006 UK RumFest 20th Anniversary release has been bottled.

From filling each bottle to applying every label by hand, the final touches are complete and this very special release is ready.

Selected from a single cask from Foursquare Distillery, this 20-year-old Barbados rum was chosen to celebrate 20 years of UK RumFest. Just 255 bottles have been produced at 56.5% ABV cask strength.

The response to this release has already been fantastic, with many of the 255 bottles secured ahead of bottling.

We joined our friends at Skylark Spirits for a brilliant rum tasting, sharing a few House of Rum bottles and enjoying some fantastic rums ourselves along the way.

Do I need to add water? Only if it's cask strength, and only a few drops. What's the best glass? A tulip shaped glass concentrates the aroma better than a tumbler. How long does it keep once it's open? Properly sealed, a bottle of rum keeps for years, there's no rush to finish it.

20 years of UK RumFest. One very special cask to mark it.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of UK RumFest and its founder, Ian Burrell, we’ve selected a rare 20-year-old single cask rum from Foursquare Distillery in Barbados.

Distilled in 2006, it spent its first 14 years ageing tropically in Barbados in American oak, before travelling to Scotland in late 2020. There, it was refilled into a once-used Bourbon cask for a further six years of continental ageing.

It will be bottled this September at cask strength, 56.5% ABV, with just 255 bottles available.

Expect vanilla, nutmeg, clove and dried fruits on the nose, followed by butterscotch, cocoa nib and warm spices on the palate, with a long, slow, warm finish.

We feel incredibly lucky to have sourced this cask from Foursquare and couldn't think of a better bottle to commemorate 20 years of UK RumFest.

Look closely at a House of Rum label and you'll find two numbers: the cask it came from, and where your bottle sits in that cask's total run. Once that run is gone, that specific number never gets made again.
