More exciting producers to be joining us next Sunday the 6th July at Bedrock form the Languedoc in the sunny south of France:

1 - Domaine Hors Ciel, Minervois - Founded in 2021 by Emma Olson and Victor Gourreau, Domaine Hors Ciel is the result of a cross-cultural partnership between an American and a native of Montouliers in the south of France. The project began humbly, in a tiny, off-grid cellar, with a bold vision: to craft uncompromisingly pure wines using spontaneous fermentations, no temperature control, no additives, and as little intervention as possible.

Emma and Victor now farm 6 hectares of mostly indigenous varieties. Their focus is on single-variety wines that reflect the nuance of site and soil. Emma and Victor remain committed to their original ethos—wines of clarity, precision, and soul, shaped by nature, not by intervention.

2 - Domaine Boris Jefferies, Caux - Joe Jefferies somehow fell accidentally into winemaking. He came from Warwickshire to the south of France just over a decade to go to help his Dad do up an old house. He then fell in love with a local and decided to stay. Bowled over by some of the local pioneer natural winemakers and having inherited a small plot of Grenache Blanc from his father in law he decided to start winemaking himself. After a couple dabbles in 2011 and 2012 he properly began producing in 2013.

Joe’s wines are now absolutely iconic in the natural wine scene particularly to drinkers familiar with the vignerons of the south of France. His wines are utterly uncompromising, sometimes wild but always pure and vibrant.

3 - Le Clos des Jarres, Minervois - after studying winemaking in the Alsace Vivien Hemelsdael moved back to Minervois and took over his parents’ 23 hectare vineyard. No mean feat for a man in his 20s! First thing he did was convert the vineyard to fully organic and biodynamic and he’s been producing beautiful and elegant wines from this limestone terroirs ever since.

Vivien’s wines perfectly capture the power and concentration of his warm sun drenched climate and terroir whilst displaying an elegance, balance and touch of freshness which is often rare for wines from hot climates.

On Sunday 6th July, joining us from the wild and sun drenched Roussillon in the south of France, where the Pyrenees meet the Mediterranean we have:

1 - Thierry Diaz and Christelle Caillot of Domaine Lamartine, Banyuls-Sur-Mer.

Farming just 5 ha of vineyard in and around Banyuls, Thierry and Christelle focus almost all their energy on dry farming mostly indigenous varieties that express this southern terroirs so well. In cellar they opt for a very simple and analogue style and their wines are some of the most alive and expressive we’ve tried from this seaside town famous for its steep terraced schist plots. Their wines are often times wild but utterly pure and uncompromising. Saline, bright and vibrant!

2 - Galdric Manchon (though his father Raymond is in the picture) of Bota Nostra, Estagel.

A little further inland and possibly even more bakingly hot. Galdric and his father work 18 hectares of vineyard in the valley surrounding Estagel but select only the best roughly 3-4 hectares of vineyard for their own small production. These vines are very low yield and the wines they produce are beautiful examples of how concentrated wines can also be balanced, lifted and alive. Raymond will soon retire and leave the entire project in the capable hands of Galdric and we couldn’t think of a better moment for Galdric to pour his family’s wines for the public and trade alike in the UK

There are still a handful of tickets left so follow the link in bio to book yours sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment.

Cheers!

On Sunday the 6th July, from the foothills of the Pyrenees in the Hautes Corbières we are joined by three talented winemakers:

1 - Marius Long (Domaine Sense Pressa)
Based in Padern and after working for several iconic winemakers in the region Marius made his first vintage in 2021 and since then has come in leaps and bounds. Marius’s wines, though still relatively new on the scene, have already become synonymous with fresh, bright and floral profiles. This goes in contrast to many wine drinker’s perception of the Corbières’s terroir, expecting wines that are more one dimensionally rich and full bodied. Marius joined us back in 2022 and we can’t wait to welcome him back!

2 - Jean-Benoît Vivequain (La Voluta) - JB has been making wine in the picturesque village of Cucugnan since 2016 and his wines are utterly unique and expressive. JB’s style and ethos in the cellar is playful and contemplative. There never seems to be pressure to release vintages early so his wines often benefit from long elevage, extended contact on the lees and often blends of different plots and vintages which makes every release balanced but also utterly unique from his previous releases. JB is also returning from 2022’s Bedrock and we can’t wait to receive him again and taste some of the fruits of his last few # years worth of labour.

3 - Sebastian Agelet (Domaine de Mena) - Seb is a born and raised Paziols local and after seeing the new wave of natural winemakers move to the valley he decided to try his own hand at making natural wine with the fruits of his father’s vineyard. Seb’s family had previously always sold their fruit to the local co-operative. It’s been wonderful to watch Seb and his brother Franck break the tradition of paysans selling all their beautiful grapes to blend in with co-op wine and be the first generation of many to vinifiy their own production. Seb’s wines are always bright, fun and drinkable and we can’t wait for you to meet him and taste them!

See you at Bedrock!

Joining us on 6th July from Catalunya (Sud) we have:

1 - Lucy Chilvers. Hailing from Cambridge Lucy studied winemaking at Plumpton. She moved to Catalunya several years ago and after working for several iconic natural winemakers there she began farming her own vineyard and making some beautiful and pure expressions of her adopted home of Penedes. Lucy is now farming 4.5 hectares and her wines are some of the most exciting to be coming from the region. It always feels like a triumphant moment when Lucy comes home to the UK to present the fruits of her labour and we can’t wait to host her!

2 - Clot de les Soleres - Carles and Montse are farming a total of 20 hectares of family vineyard in the Anoia region nestled in the hills inland from Barcelona. They were some of the pioneers in Catalunya to champion natural wines with zero additives and have over 20 years of vintages under their belt. Their wines are often times wild but utterly exciting and if the time and patience is taken to let their bottles rest they utterly shine.

3 - La Salada. Toni Carbó is farming around 18 hectares of vineyard on the clay-limestone hills of Penedès and Toni is making some of the most pure and terroir expressive wines coming out of Catalunya today. His wines are known for their vibrancy, purity snd saline character. This will be Toni’s first visit to the UK and we’re over the moon to be able to finally have Toni pour his wines directly for his customers here!

4 - Joan Rubió and Angels Margalef of Tiques - Joan worked as technical director at Recaredo for 14 years before taking over the helm of his family’s 9 hectare family vineyard. All of that experience working at one of the top Cava houses means he is able to bring a level of precision and finesse to his own production that is rare to find not only in natural wines of this region but in general. Their wines simply need to be tasted and we can’t wait for you to meet them and taste with them in person!

There are still tickets available in the bio link if you’d like to come and meet these and many other winemakers on the 6th July.

See you there!

On Sunday 6 July, joining us from Italy are the following:

1 - Perched above Lake Bolsena, Cantina Ortaccio is the work of Patrizia Montanari and Massimo Antonuzi, who farm four hectares of vines around Gradoli and Latera in Lazio. At 450–500m, on soils of tufa, volcanic rock and sand, they tend parcels both old and new — including vines planted by Massimo’s grandfather in 1948. Inspired by those childhood harvests, work in the vines minimises impact, and in the cellar is strictly no additions. Whites and reds are de-stemmed, gently macerated, and aged in chestnut and oak in a limestone cellar. Honest wines of place, tradition, and properly thoughtful farming.

2 - Francesco of Tenuta Foresto, in Nizza Monferrato, Piedmont - With eight hectares planted over clay and the chalky limestone, Francesco practices a zero-input farming method inspired by Fukuoka, growing mostly Barbera, with a little Mosctao, Cortese, Dolcetto alongside. Each wine walks the line between Francesco’s meticulous attention to detail, and intent to not interfere with the vines, the fruit, or the wines. Work in the cellar is delicate and considered, producing wines of great depth without sacrificing freshness and tension.

3- Valli Unite is a pioneering co-operative in the hills of Piedmont, founded in 1981 and now home to over 40 people working across farming, winemaking, butchery, and hospitality. Rooted in shared labour and sustainability, they farm 20 hectares of organic vines entirely by hand. A new generation took the reins in the late 2000s, shifting to wild ferments and a natural, additive-free approach in the cellar. Wine remains their clearest expression of values: honesty, simplicity, and deep connection to the land. Powered by solar and built from local materials, Valli Unite is a working model of community in action.

From the south and north-west of Spain pouring with us we have:

1 - Samuel Párraga who is based in the hills of Málaga. Samuel is farming a handful of old vineyards in the mountains of his native Málaga and neighbouring Granada. Samuel’s dedication to traditionally farming old bush vines of predominantly indigenous varieties and his uncompromising dedication to making pure wines with no additives make him one of the most exciting producers to watch from Andalucía. Samuel never rushes his wines out of the cellar, instead opting for long elevage and in some cases following the ancient Andalusian oxidative winemaking style. His wines are truly alive.

2 - Josh and Josie of Cap de Nit are based on the mountainous peninsula of Marina Alta on the coast of Alicante. Skirted by the Mediterranean on three sides, their wines are pure and vibrant expressions of this mountainous Mediterranean terroirs. Focussing on indigenous varieties Giró and Moscatel de Alejandría amongst others, their wines are pure, expressive and unique. Ever since their wines landed in the UK just a few years ago they’ve been incredibly popular and we’re ecstatic for them to pour their wines in person!

3 - Constantina Sotelo and her family are farming less than 4 hectares of pergola trained vines on the lush decomposed granite shores of the Rias Baixas. Focussing mostly on Albariño and producing wines with no additions whatsoever her name has become synonymous with pure, honest and often times experimental expressions of this iconic Galician varietal. Constantina’s son David will be in London for Bedrock, the first time ever that the Sotelo family will be in the UK pouring their wines themselves and we could not be more excited!
