Depth, energy, persistence - three words from our team to conclude Bordeaux 2025.

What was expected to be a warm, powerful year has instead delivered wines of impeccable freshness, balance, and confident energy, with moderate alcohols and beautifully refined structure.

Across both Left and Right Bank, there’s real quality, with several wines already standing among the most memorable we’ve tasted in recent years. Comparisons are being drawn to the highly regarded 2019 vintage, yet 2025 feels like a unique vintage in its own right.

Yields are low, but where careful decisions have been made in vineyard and cellar, the results are impressive - wines that will drink well in their youth, yet have the balance to age.

It’s a vintage we believe in, and one well worth following closely.

From tomorrow, all wines, tasting notes, and the brochure will be available, with further details accessible via the link in our bio.

Our Buying Director, David Roberts MW, is in conversation with Marielle Cazaux of Château La Conseillante about the 2025 vintage in Pomerol, and what makes this vintage so special.

There are hints of the power of 2022 in the style, alongside a clear focus on purity of fruit and a balance between ripeness and freshness.

Full conversation in the video.

From Pauillac, we had the pleasure of tasting some of the most exciting wines of the trip, all showing impressive energy, power and all important freshness.

Special mentions go to Château Clerc Milon and Château Pichon Comtesse de Lalande, both producing remarkable wines this year, certain to attract strong interest from collectors and wine lovers alike.

On the Left Bank, Saint Julien showed wonderful depth across the appellation, reminding us why these wines remain such a consistent source of value and quality.

Château Branaire-Ducru delights with its elegance, Château Léoville Barton carries its heritage with pride in its 200th year of single ownership… and the rest we’ll let Ruairi tell you in the video, including his personal favourite of the appellation: Château Léoville Las Cases.

News from Right Bank Bordeaux points to a vintage of real promise.

Here, our Commercial Director Helen Miller shares her first impressions of outstanding quality across the appellations, where the wines are showing a beautiful core of sweet, pure fruit, balanced acidity, and finely integrated tannins - all coming together in remarkable harmony in barrel. It’s a Right Bank already speaking with timeless charm.

Standout tastings include Château Beauregard (Pomerol), Château Cheval Blanc (Saint-Émilion), and Château Gazin (Pomerol), each expressing the elegance that defines this revered part of Bordeaux.

Many thanks to our friends for their warm and generous hospitality.

From Margaux to the northern edge of the Médoc, the journey continues.

Day 2 brings us to Saint-Estèphe, where our Bordeaux buyer Ophelia leads the way through this most northerly appellation. Here, the wines speak with structure and quiet finesse, showing a more measured, powerful side of the vintage.

Château Montrose stands out, alongside impressive tastings from Château Calon Ségur, while Château Pez Cru Bourgeois is excellent in this vintage, made by the brilliant team at Pichon Lalande.
