Thank you to everyone who joined us, the energy in the room was amazing.

We welcomed so many wonderful guests, tasted exceptional wines, enjoyed delicious food pairings, and even had cocktails crafted with our producers’ beautiful Madeira wines. 🌿🍇🍸

We’re over the moon to welcome Aidy Smith back as this year’s host for the Madeira Wine Experience in London!

An award-winning broadcaster, journalist and presenter, Aidy is celebrated for his work across food, drink, and lifestyle - bringing energy, expertise, and a true sense of connection to every event he leads.

As the creator and co-host of The Three Drinkers on Amazon Prime, Aidy has taken audiences around the world through the lens of taste and travel, championing stories that blend culture, craft, and curiosity.

Aidy will lead an interactive speed tasting, guiding guests through the history, character, and diverse styles of Madeira wine, from bright and zesty to deep and complex. Expect insight, laughter, and plenty of discovery.

We’re thrilled to welcome to the Madeira Wine Experience London, where she’ll host a Cocktail Showdown celebrating creativity, craftsmanship, and the versatility of Madeira wine.

Anna is the founder of Anna Sebastian Hospitality, a global consultancy specialising in commercial and creative strategy for the luxury beverage sector. She’s also the founder of Celebrate Her, a non-profit community empowering and supporting women in hospitality.

Known across the industry for her warmth, innovation, and forward-thinking approach to drinks, Anna will bring her signature flair to the cocktail stand - crafting exciting yet accessible serves that showcase how Madeira shines in the hands of London’s best bars.

Meet the Hosts – Bert Blaize & Daniel Watkins

We’re thrilled to welcome and to the Madeira Wine Experience London on the 27th November, where they’ll come together to curate exceptional canapé and Madeira pairings for the evening.

Bert Blaize is an award-winning sommelier, author and wine consultant whose career spans some of the UK’s most respected establishments, including La Belle Epoque, Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons and The Clove Club, before opening the Mandrake Hotel as Head of Wine.
Named the UK’s Top Young Sommelier in 2017, and nominated by GQ, Drinks Business and Imbibe, Bert is also the co-author of Which Wine When and Drinking the World, and now runs North Norfolk Cellars with a creative, joyful approach to wine.

Daniel Watkins, Head Chef and creative food innovator, brings his fire-driven, waste-conscious cooking style to this year’s experience. Known for bold flavours, sustainability and a photographer’s eye for aesthetics, Daniel leads the kitchen at Holy Carrot, where he blends technique, creativity and mindful cooking.
For the event, he’ll craft bespoke pairings that showcase Madeira’s vibrant freshness, rich depth and layered complexity.
