Sofia Cardoso, co-founder of CHIMMY'S, shares a passion for food and family with her husband, Michelin-starred chef Diego Cardoso. Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Sofia’s journey brought her to London, where the couple now lives with their two daughters and their dog. Together, they’re introducing Londoners to chimichurri, a traditional Argentinian sauce close to their hearts.
A former EMEA Director in the baby furniture industry, Sofia decided to channel her love for food and entertaining into a new venture. In 2018, after a wedding BBQ in France where their homemade chimichurri stole the show, Sofia declared it was time to bring their recipe to a wider audience. Leaving her corporate role, she dedicated herself fully to CHIMMY’S, transforming a family tradition into a thriving business.
For Sofia, CHIMMY’S isn’t just a sauce—it’s a connection to her roots and a celebration of the life she’s built in the UK. “Back in Argentina, BBQs and Sunday lunches are all about family and friends coming together,” she explains. “Here in London, we’ve recreated that spirit with friends who’ve become our family. And CHIMMY’S has become a staple on our table, a perfect blend of Argentinian tradition and British influence.”
Under Sofia’s leadership, CHIMMY’S has grown into a successful brand, with three varieties—Classic, Smoky BBQ, and Spicy—available at Ocado, Selfridges, local shops, and online. The sauces are vegan-friendly, free from preservatives, and crafted to suit both European and Argentinian palates.
Sofia’s dedication and love for food shine through in every jar of CHIMMY’S, making it more than just a sauce—it’s a story of heritage, family, and a shared passion for bringing people together. 🇦🇷❤️🇬🇧
