These little piggies are becoming escape artists. This one found a plastic bag to play with. 😂

Recent Scottish breakfast at Larch Barn. Haggis, steak lorne sausage, black pudding, fried egg, bacon, tattie scones, mushrooms, tomato and baked beans. Can thoroughly recommend.

Last week was a very productive one here at Stoneygate Farm, all thanks to the glorious weather we’ve had. It was a touch too warm at times, but we’re just thankful we managed to get all the hay done before the weather turned.
We’ve made over 500 small bales of hay and 80 large bales, which will be used for our own animals, with some also available for sale. If you’d like to purchase some, just pop us a message.
A quick thank you to Thomas, Neil, Nick, Peter, and Matthew for all their help and support — without them, we wouldn’t have managed to get it all done in time.

We have been busy at Stoneygate hosting a charity tractor run, and in between the tractors coming and going, we managed to get our small flock of Kerry Hill sheep clipped, along with a neighbour’s small flock of Rough Fells. I’m sure they’re all grateful for loosing their fleeces, especially as the weather is warming up again.

There is a JustGiving page online linked to the Tractor Run, and donations are still very welcome. All funds raised will support two cancer charities that are very close to Will and his family’s hearts.

If you would like more details or need the donation link, please just pop me a message.

The guests staying in the lodge last weekend thought it was wonderful to have so much activity going on around them, and the children especially loved watching the clipping—something you don’t often get to see in the city.

We’ve got a big woodland and years of work ahead of us, but views like this make every bit of hard work worthwhile. It’s such a peaceful place to spend time, and even more special knowing our lodge guests get to enjoy it too.
