SOMETHING BIG IS COMING TO CHELSEA… 🥃🎨

Cartwright Jenson Group is bringing together two worlds that rarely meet — whisky and art — for one extraordinary night in Chelsea.

Following owner/founder Charles Spinola’s appearance on the BBC’s The Big Deal with Steph McGovern, we’re planning an exclusive collaboration with some familiar faces from the series. With the finale approaching next Thursday, the competition reaches its conclusion as one pair walks away with £50,000 worth of art.

Our founder and director, Charles Spinola, made it all the way to the final — but does he go all the way? You’ll have to watch next Thursday to find out.

Charles has also chosen to donate his winnings from the programme to Great Ormond Street Hospital.

WHISKY MEETS ART — ONE NIGHT ONLY

Later this year, Cartwright Jensen Group will host an exclusive Whisky Meets Art evening at a gallery space in Chelsea, London, bringing together special guests and contestants from the show alongside figures from the worlds of art, whisky and media.

🥂 Champagne reception
🎨 Curated art
🥃 Fine & rare whisky
🍾 Canapés
📸 Press & media
🤝 100+ invited guests
✨ Special guests from The Big Deal

We’re keeping the names under wraps for now.

One gallery. One night. Whisky. Art. London.

This isn't simply another networking evening. It’s shaping up to be one of our biggest events yet.

CHELSEA • LONDON • COMING SOON

INTERESTED IN WHISKY CASK INVESTMENT?

At Cartwright Jenson Group, we welcome clients to visit our Westminster offices and speak directly with one of our whisky consultants about building a cask portfolio.

Whether you are completely new to whisky or already understand the market, our team can talk you through the fundamentals, including distillery, age, cask type, maturation, storage and potential exit routes.

Entry levels start from £850, with opportunities extending to £1 million and above, depending on the distillery, age, provenance, cask type, rarity and individual characteristics of the stock.

Whisky is a tangible, finite asset, and its market is influenced by the economics of supply and demand. As spirit matures and stock is progressively bottled or consumed, the availability of particular aged whisky can become increasingly limited.

Your reasons for purchasing a cask may be entirely personal. You may be considering whisky as part of a longer-term portfolio, planning for the future, looking to own physical assets, purchasing because of a genuine passion for Scotch whisky, or even intending to bottle your cask when it reaches the right age.

VISIT OUR WESTMINSTER OFFICES

Come in, meet the team and discover what owning your first cask could look like. Alternatively, contact us using the main office number shown on our website.

🏆 WE’VE DONE IT AGAIN.

Two years. Two awards. One very proud team.

We are incredibly proud to announce that Cartwright Jenson Group has once again been named Best Whisky Consultancy in London at the FDI Insider Awards 2026 — following our success in 2025.

To win once is an achievement. To do it two years running is something we are exceptionally proud of.

But an award like this is never the work of one person.

Our sincere thanks go to our suppliers, our bonded warehouse partners and the wider whisky industry for the relationships and opportunities that have helped us build a business our customers can trust. We are particularly proud to be able to invite clients to Scotland and give them the opportunity to see where their casks are stored.

A huge thank you also goes to our IT and marketing teams, and, most importantly, to every member of staff who has played a part in getting Cartwright Jenson Group to where it is today.

Not everyone who was with us at the beginning is still with us today — and that is simply part of building a business. From day one, my vision has always been to grow in stages, with purpose.

Year One was about building the foundations: establishing the right website, developing our banking relationships, putting the right payment infrastructure in place and creating a professional platform from which to grow.

Year Two was about people. Building a serious core team, developing talent and finding the right individuals to represent the company. Good people are not always easy to find, and when you find them, you value them.

Now, as we move through our third year of trading, our focus is evolving once again — with a greater emphasis on our digital presence, marketing, transparency and visibility. We are expanding the services we can offer our clients, including bottling opportunities where appropriate, while continuing to develop our whisky offering.

And we are not stopping there.

It has always been my ambition that Cartwright Jenson Group would never be defined by one product alone. The vision has always been to build a broader luxury-assets.

From the bottom of my heart, Thank you everyone!

10 Fun Facts About Whisky Casks 🥃

1. Casks Have Had a Previous Life
Many whisky casks previously held bourbon, sherry, rum, wine or other spirits. This previous liquid helps influence the flavour of the whisky.

2. Oak Is Key 🌳
Oak is the most commonly used wood for whisky maturation. It helps give whisky its colour, aroma, flavour and character.

3. Size Really Does Matter
The size of a cask affects how quickly whisky matures. Smaller casks have more wood contact per litre of spirit, which can accelerate maturation.

4. Casks Can Be Reused 🔄
A whisky cask can be used more than once. Each fill can interact differently with the wood and contribute a different character to the spirit.

5. Sherry Casks Add Richness 🍇
Sherry-seasoned casks can contribute rich flavours such as dried fruit, raisins, spice, nuts and chocolate.

6. The Angels Take Their Share 👼
During maturation, some whisky naturally evaporates through the wood of the cask. This is known as the “angel’s share.”

7. It Isn't Always Just Oak
While oak is by far the most common choice, other types of wood have also been experimented with for whisky maturation, including chestnut and other hardwoods.

8. Every Single Cask Is Different
Even two casks filled with the same spirit on the same day can develop differently. Temperature, warehouse position, wood and previous contents can all influence the final character.

9. Time Changes Everything ⏳
As whisky matures, it interacts with the wood and develops new aromas, flavours and complexity. However, older doesn't automatically mean better—the quality and balance of the spirit and cask matter.

10. A Cask Is More Than Just a Barrel 🥃
A whisky cask is where spirit, wood and time come together. It plays a fundamental role in creating the character of the whisky we eventually enjoy in the glass.
