The Farm occupies a 2.2 acre site on the south bank of the river Thames in Rotherhithe. We have a lovely farmyard with a range of animals to meet. A small orchard, working blacksmith and wildlife area. Animal feed can be purchased in the farm shop (£1 bag), available from our volunteers during opening hours.

We’ve loved welcoming the latest cohort of students from Bacon’s College to our weekly Forest School on the Farm sessions. Students have enjoyed hands-on activities with the animals, as well as many nature-based crafts - including making these pocket flower presses decorated with their own natural paint!

The recent heatwave meant a lot of our young plants bolted and can’t be sold, salad leaves don’t taste so good and can be more fibrous in texture, but nothing is wasted here! The chickens are loving their fresh salad bar, they’ll also eat the minibeasts that live in the soil.

Did you know we sell a range of plants outside our farm shop? All grown here on the Farm in reused pots, filled with our own compost, tended by our community gardeners. Stock changes, so it’s always worth a browse, but this week we have; mint, calendula, French lavender, oregano, feverfew, rainbow chard, statice, snap dragons, shungiku, purple sprouting broccoli, mustard red dragon; plus tomatoes - oxheart, cherry, yellow pear, gartenperle. The farm team were hard at work cleaning out our duck and goose pond last Friday!
It’s a mammoth task - pumping the water through our biodigester (the nutrient rich pond water isn’t wasted!), clearing the sludge at the bottom and wheelbarrowing to the muck heap, washing down the lining and then slowly refilling with rainwater we’ve collected and stored in recent weeks.

The Farm is a tempting place with fruit starting to ripen, but we’re NOT a pick your own farm!
Please head to our farm shop (at the bottom of the goat yard) if you want to purchase any of our surplus produce. Leave fruit and vegetables on the plants, so our community gardeners can harvest at the correct time and use for educational projects, cooking and eating. Many of our vegetable beds also belong to individuals or groups.
So when you visit - please look, learn and enjoy, but don’t pick!

Goat kidding season is finally complete! Yin kicked things off with two boys arriving on March 24th and her sister Yang finished the season, over 8 weeks later, giving birth to two more boys on Friday!
