The Holly Bush, Hampstead

The Holly Bush, Hampstead Holly Bush Hampstead A real gem of a London local, The Holly Bush is a charming centuries-old pub in the heart of historic Hampstead.
(969)

Step inside the grade II listed building and you’ll discover a wealth of cosy corners to call your own – the perfect place to enjoy fabulous food, ales and wine. Catering for up to 60 people, our upstairs function room provides a great space for special occasions. But sometimes, we know you’ll fancy a much more intimate celebration – book the 10-seater Lady Hamilton Suite for a private dining experience to remember.More than 200 years old, the pub is engrained in Hampstead history – and it feels that way the moment you walk in the door. Our real fire, ornate etched glass panels and authentic wooden floors lend a traditional feel to the place, while there’s local nostalgia lining the walls.

How adorable is Princess Bobo, curled up in front of the fire? 🥹🐾

With the temperature starting to drop, autumn is settling in rather beautifully here at our beautiful pub in Hampstead. 🍂

And with Christmas not too far behind, now’s a lovely time to start making plans for the festive season. 🎄

Sage’s latest dessert is a stunning celebration of autumn. 🍂
Pumpkin panna cotta, dark chocolate ganache, maple and pumpkin seed granola, pumpkin compote, coconut and orange ice cream, finished with fresh lemon thyme.
And it just happens to be entirely vegan, gluten-free and nut-free.
Coming soon to The Holly Bush.

What a first week back.

It’s been so lovely to welcome everyone back to The Holly Bush.

We’re open every day for lunch and dinner, with group dining available too.

25/08/2026

After spending the past couple of weeks giving The Holly Bush a little time and attention, we’re really excited to be reopening our doors tomorrow.

We’ve been carefully tending to this much-loved old pub, preserving everything that gives it its character while making a few considered changes along the way.

Now, all that’s missing is you.

We can’t wait to welcome everyone back tomorrow.

Something bright, fresh and full of colour to look forward to when we reopen on 26th August.

Our Mango Gazpacho brings together the sweetness of ripe mango with marinated tomatoes, sliced heritage radish and coriander oil, finished with delicate coriander cress.

Cool, vibrant and beautifully balanced — a little taste of late summer waiting for our return.

Today marks our final day before we temporarily close for an exciting refurbishment. A huge thank you to all of our wonderful guests, neighbours and regulars for your incredible support. We can’t wait to welcome you back to an even better Holly Bush.

We’ll be closed from today until 26th August, while we complete a range of improvements throughout the pub. When we reopen, you’ll find refreshed interiors, changes to the kitchen, beautifully renovated facilities and we’re looking forward to introducing some exciting new food and drinks too.

We’re disappointed that we’ll miss the first half of Ariana Grande London tour and won’t be able to welcome her amazing fans and followers during those dates. But we’ll be back from 26th August, just in time for the final week, and we’d love to welcome anyone visiting London for the tour to celebrate with us.

Christmas bookings are now live, so if you’re planning a festive celebration, now is the perfect time to secure your date.

Thank you for being part of our story. We can’t wait to open our doors again on 26th August and welcome you back home to The Holly Bush.

See you soon,
The Holly Bush Team ❤️

Every element has a purpose. In this behind-the-scenes glimpse, Kyrah talks us through our spiced lamb rump, explaining how layers of texture and vibrant Caribbean flavours come together to create a dish that is balanced, considered and full of character.

A chance to hear the thinking behind the plate from our Head Chef.

There is something wonderfully assured about the way Kyrah works, and here we get a glimpse behind the scenes as she talks us through the preparation and plating of our pimento beef carpaccio, sharing the thought behind each stage as the dish comes together.

Precise, considered and full of confidence, it is a glimpse of the care and skill behind every plate leaving the kitchen.

There are few pairings quite as enduring as caviar and Laurent-Perrier Ch*****ne.

Our sharing caviar is accompanied by perfectly chilled Laurent-Perrier, with the first taste served as a traditional caviar bump from the back of the hand.

Originally used by caviar producers and chefs to taste the roe without a metal spoon interfering with its delicate flavour, the warmth of the skin gently releases its aroma before each pearl meets the palate.

With World Caviar Week underway, there could hardly be a more fitting time to experience it.

Available to share at The Holly Bush.

Folc’s Pinot Noir Rosé, produced and bottled in England, is the perfect accompaniment for the English summer… best enjoyed in your nearest Fuller’s garden. As part of our English W**e Month celebrations, you can buy a small glass of any English W**e for £7.50 throughout June.

Plus, working with brands such as .folc – who have developed more lightweight packaging while working hard to promote soil health and biodiversity as part of their w**emaking philosophy – means we can offer you delicious w**e that has less impact on the planet.
