15 years married today! Feels like 50 🤪 but in the best way possible 🙌🏻 I can’t actually remember my life before Mike messaged me on a dating app I was on for exactly a month and asked me out. I said “no” because I didn’t like his profile picture 😂 then a few months later he contacted me on FB (stalker) and asked me out again. I still wasn’t keen but when he told me he was an acting agent and since I had just finished acting school, I immediately called him up (it was 11pm on a Sunday) to arrange a meeting 😂 We arranged to meet at the canal café in London and I had my headshots in my bag and a monologue memorised ready to be performed 🤦🏻♀️ when he stepped out of his car and I saw him I remember thinking “damn, he’s hot!”. He later knocked a bottle of wine on the floor with his coat and I liked the fact he was clumsy 😜 At the end of the meeting we went our separate ways and I remember thinking it was a shame cos I really liked him. Then he called me the next day and said “I don’t want to represent you because I don’t date my clients, instead - I’d like to take you out on a real date”. Nicely played Mr Leigh 😘 we were engaged within a year and frankly we moved in together within a month because I got offered a role in a movie that was shooting on location five minutes walk from where he lived! Talk about fate!!!! In the 15 years of us being mad we’ve lived in three different homes, two different countries, we started a family and have build a life I can honestly say I love and am proud of. It’s not always a garden of roses and anyone coming to my show next month will hear me moan and complain about all the stuff he does that drives me crazy, but the truth is - he’s one of the good ones. Really good one. And I’m forever grateful 🙏🏻 so happy anniversary lulu, I’m used to not spending it with you (he’s in Edinburgh for the fringe as per every year on this day) but hopefully we can have an early dinner and be in bed by ten when you get back to celebrate 😜 Love you ❤️
