Forty Hall Vineyard is an exciting social enterprise which has established a new 10 acre organic vineyard in north London. Run and managed by local people, the vineyard is the first commercial scale vineyard in London since the middle ages. The vineyard produces and sells quality English still and sparkling wines. Situated on Capel Manor College's Forty Hall Farm, we are certified organic and dedicated to demonstrating environmentally sustainable farming and vine-growing practices.

Harvest is going to be short and sweet this year, with everything ready earlier than ever. And with sugars high, all of the grape varieties are shouting ‘pick me now’! So our community of volunteers, plus friends and family have had to spring into action! Once harvested it’s straight off to the w**ery Davenport Vineyards - can’t wait to taste the 2026 London vintage.

Hello from Forty Hall Vineyard
where the farm’s sheep are happily grazing between the vines, feeding while fertilising the soil. Holistic farming at its best. And as the vines go to sleep until next spring, it’s time to start pruning - shaping the vines to promote a good yield in 2026.
The vine canes collected today will be used in the farm’s wreath-making workshop this Saturday, hosted by - with a glass of Forty Hall fizz to finish 🥂 Tickets available via link in bio

Now our harvest is complete we have a bit of time before pruning begins in December, so yesterday our wonderful volunteers went and helped out our fellow orchard volunteers 🍏

They got stuck into some clearing, strimming and general maintenance before learning how to prune the fruit trees with Mark, who was involved in the vineyard’s early days! Everyone headed home with some beautiful apples and quinces 🍎✨
