We are very excited for our last event before the summer!

On 8th July, we will be tasting some special wines from Spain and Portugal, exploring and celebrating the diversity of climates, soils, and grape varieties that make these two countries such fascinating wine producing regions.

We can’t wait to welcome our guests and celebrate great wines! 🥂🍷

Last week I had one of those experiences that reminds you why it’s worth stepping outside your usual comfort zone.
I was invited to pair wines with research posters from Bayes Business School alumni, finding connections between abstract academic subjects and wine profiles, grape varieties, the history and story behind a bottle.

On paper it sounds like a challenging brief. In practice, it was genuinely one of the most stimulating things I’ve done with my wine knowledge in a long time.

There’s something surprisingly natural about the exercise. A research paper on behavioural economics connecting with a wine through layers that reveal themselves slowly. The connections aren’t always obvious, but that’s exactly what makes it interesting, it forces you to think laterally about both the subject and the wine.
I hope this is the first of many.

Huge thanks to Bayes Business School and Professor Alessandro Giudici for making the opportunity possible, to Aakif Rahman for pulling the event together, and to Amore GNA and Oliver Warner for supplying the amazing wines and for their brilliant support on the day.
A wonderful experience, and one very much worth repeating. 👏🏼🥂🥂

First intense day of tasting at the International Taste Institute in Brussels. Always a rewarding experience! Approaching each beverage through structured sensory analysis, from aromatic profile to palate, texture, balance, and persistence, fully engaging the senses to evaluate quality and complexity. One day down, three more to go. 👏🏼
